I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of North Carolina for 9 years. My certification is current. I am also BLS/CPR certified which is also current. I have worked in long term care settings as well as assisted living. I am very passionate about what I do. I love helping people and taking care of them when they can no longer care for themselves. I would be a good caregiver because I have helped my mom recover from different types of surgeries and know what to look for and how to help appropriately. I've also helped my father through various stages of cancer. Sometimes helping means just being there to help or smile

I have been in health care for over 20 years. Caring for all ages and abilities. I started as a CNA, bathing, feeding, dressing and walking. I, went back to school to become a medication aide where I passed medication and medication reminders and Range of motion assistance . I went on to train in wound care where I did wound care treatments. And on to health unit coordinator where I put in doctors orders. I am a retired school teacher with 22 years experience and Class A certifications in all subjects(grades 4 to 8); with 20 plus years teaching science and health. In addition, I have a degree in Radiology Technology with over 20 years of experience in hospitals, managed a medical office and responsible for patient care. I am seeking a position as a caregiver, companion/assistant. I would also be available as a caretaker for a private property. My personal experiences in care giving include: 3 years caring for my mother until her death, 2 years caring for a friend until her death, and 9 months care giving for a friend until her death. My qualifications include: well-educated, medical experience over 20 plus years (classes taken for CNA), good listener, very organized and good at organization, attention to details, knowledge of nutrition and health issues. I have excellent references, sent upon request. I am available for part-time work of approximately 20 hours per week: however I am not able to work week-ends because I have to care for my elderly father. In the case of a job as a property caretaker I would be more available due to this type of postion. Due to my educational and medical experiences, I work very well with others and patient.

What first attracted me to being a caregiver was the fact that my mamaw has done this kind of work her whole life so when I turned 18 I got a job in an assisted living facility and have done home health care off and on ever since. I love being able to know I can help someone on a personal level. It takes a special person to do this kind of work.

I genuinely love working with all individuals needing support or care. My friends refer to me as "the mom" of the group. I do not have children but have a background in childcare throughout college. I spent a lot of time helping my grandmother growing up and until she passed. My suffered from multiple heart attacks, low blood pressure, cancer, and more. I have a very positive personality. I am soft when needing to be soft and I am enthusiastic when I need to be more alive. I am wonderful at keeping everything organized and attended to. I have a culinary background and I LOVE to cook and bake. My friends and family often brag about my menu's. I have trainings that certify me to cook and respect food allergies or restrictions. I am so attracted to helping care for another because I feel as if I can really help in the world. My favorite part of being a caretaker is to having the option to learn about another human being. My biggest person achievement would have to be working a Recovery Program. I grew up with a lot of trauma surrounding me. This disadvantage taught me a lot of sensitivity and love. I feel confident to care for others with a compassionate and professional manor.
