My name is Patricia ! I work with individuals with severe mental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional. I am looking for a new job closer to my new home. I am First Aid, CPR, and MAP Certified. I also have a long list of other certifications I can provide for you. The individuals I work with have serious medical issues such as seizures, hip dysplasia, spinal stenosis and other diagnoses such as Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, and Autism. I also have experience with Alzheimer's. I assist with all activities of daily life such as showering, toileting, grooming, cooking, feeding, and also having fun! Pretty much anything you need to do to live. Another thing that I really enjoy doing with my individuals is accompanying them to doctors appointments. I love to expand my knowledge and learn new treatments and ways I can help so my individuals can live the most joyful life they can. Thank you for your time and consideration! I became a caregiver by pure accident, I needed a job when I moved and applied at assisted living, and suddenly i saw a side of me i never knew i had. I am loving, caring, patient, and so much more. I loved the fact that i could make someones day better, by just being there, it made me go home with a smile. about a year and half after my first caregiver job i moved back to my home town and got another job in the nursing field, and they offered me to pay for me to become a certified LNA, so i took them up on there offer, so i proud of myself for committing to this career for 5 years, and it has been so rewarding. along with that I also have a 4 year old son, who is my world, he drives me to success everyday. I am also attending school in the fall to start the process of becoming an LPN. I am nervous but it has always been my dream so i minswell start now.
