I have been working as a healthcare worker since 2016. I am compassionate working in the health field. I love helping and working with patients especially with the elderly.

It's always been very important to me to care for all people no matter who they are. Throughout my life I have developed the patience especially when seeking care for a loved ones with Alzheimer's or another type of dementia. Working for facilities and hospitals has given me the right tools/ training to help with other conditions that the elderly face throughout their years. I really enjoy being a companion as well and feel that this is my lifes purpose!

I make sure my patient is being taken care of I remind them or help them with there medication, keep them company, housekeeping if needed,exercise,take to doctors, grocery store or shopping ect,I treat my patient/client as if he or she is my family meaing I have respect towards them help them and take care of them as I would to my own family,I love to cook & bake im a person that is loving and caring,respectful, responsible,ect.i like to do caregiving to those who need it cause im the type of person that cares for others and will do my best to make u know you are being taking care of and make you feel like u are someone special,caregiving to me is like giving back to those who work and done so much for this world and its great to help back and give your time,respect, company,friendship,to those in need.

After caring for my Grandfather for somtime before he passed, I decided that caregiving was what I wanted to do as a career. I have a sincere passion for the elderly and find it very rewarding to work with them. I have over 10 years as a Certified Nurse Asst. and home healthcare provider and extensive experience with Alzheimer patients and Hospice care. My name is Sherl Rehn and I moved to Santa Fe from Boston on September 8, 2007. I worked as a independent contractor and a personal assistant for a woman in Cambridge Massachusetts and other individuals in the Greater Boston Area. When I came to Santa Fe I joined Westminster Presbyterian Church and work for several of the church members. One of my clients had MS and I worked with him for a little over a year and until he need more intense care. I also worked with a woman who need personal care after a botched therapy. I took her to physical therapy appointments, to the store and did house and yard-work. In 2009 I became employed with Comfort Keepers as a Caregiver and eventually a Scheduler. I chose this line of work because I have so much compassion in my heart for those who are elderly, disabled, marginalized and disenfranchised members within our community and society as a whole. I love the elderly because I feel they all have an amazing story to tell and also have a lot to teach us if we would only listen to them. To me they are such precious individuals that live throughout the world. I took a semester off of school to deal with family issues and will be return summer semester to complete my final 13 credits of my Senior Year at New Mexico Highlands University. It is my plan to enter an Masters of Social Work program at an online University in the fall of this year.
