I love to sit and hear their the stories of their past. I am a very caring person and treat all my residents as if they were my own family. My mother was an aide when I was younger and I always admired what she did and wanted to do the same. I love everything there is about being a caregiver, from the good days to the bad. Every moment, every day is very rewarding. I have two personal achievements that I am most proud of. The first one is my three children. They are my everything and my reason to get up every day and keep doing what I do. My second one is the fact that I am now back in school. I never had enough self confidence to do it but with the support of my children and my boyfriend I know I can accomplish it and be great at it.

I became a caregiver because my dad started getting sick, then we soon found out he had cancer. I knew he needed care 24/7. After he passed I continued my career and got my CNA and worked 3 years at a nursing home, and have realized that isn't for me. I have decided to move onto home health care where I can be 1:1 with people.

My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the residents. I was first attracted to this job because I felt that it was important for me to play a role in my community is someway, and helping to care for the elderly was a good fit for me.
