I have been working in health care since a young age, starting off being a health care aide for my blind grandmother at the tender age of 8 years old. From there on I found my passion in life. During my years as working as a personal care aide, I had the opportunity to take care of my parents during their last days. In doing so, I was able to gain a personal insight on the importance of having the right person taking care of your loved ones, which gave me an even greater passion for the work I do. I'm 45 white single mother of 2 that are in college nothing holding me back from my career. I'm very trustworthy and loyal to my clients. I'm more then just there caretaker I'm there friend. My parents passed when I was young and l cared for both of them in my home. I'm very compassionate and understanding and utilize my skills so your loved ones get the best quality care. Hello! My name is Heather Dunmire, I have been in the medical field for 8 years now. My first job out of high school was a nurses aide position. I went on to further my education and obtain my CNA license in January 2017. I have a strong passion for wanting to help others and wanting to see them succeed. I have worked in a childcare facility as a shift supervisor before but I always find my way back to my elderly folk, that is where I feel my heart is at and where I feel I do my best work. I love hearing their stories from all throughout their lives, and I absolutely love to see the smiles on their faces. I like to really take the time to find out what their dislikes and likes are, get to know their routine of things, and try to connect with them in a way to make them feel safe and secure. I am cpr, first aid, aed, and Heimlich trained. I am also diabetic trained and medication trained, and insulin trained and I have a customer service certification. I am a senior nursing student at IUP, and I will be graduating in may. I am very compassionate and love the field of work I am in. I have experience with caring for the elderly, as I was a caregiver for my neighbor back in High School. Since I am a senior student I have completed all areas of nursing (I will be in Psychiatrics and community nursing this upcoming semester).
