I became a Caregiver because when my late Grandmother was down, I took the liberty in helping her get around to the doctor's, neighbors houses, church, (ect). I moved in with her so I could cook, clean, attend her grooming needs, and did her shopping and paying her bills. What I like about being a Caregiver is seeing the faces of individuals who know someone is there who cares about them and their well being. My personal achievement would have to be my clients doing something on their own or showing me their strength in getting something correct. Time and patients is all they want...and a some tender loving care. I'm 34 yrs old and been a caregiver for 13 years but was working for a disabilities and special needs board for 8 years. I just love it.

My name is Kiandra Donaldson, and I am 36 years old. I'm from South Carolina and reside here my entire life. I started doing homehealth care over 10 years ago. I have an artistic brother whom I helped my parents take care of who is now 27 years old. What makes me a great caregiver is that I show empathy and compassion to my clients, to let the person I am caring for know that I care about him/her and want to do what I can to help them. I'm also, patient, reliable, trustworthy, and flexible. What attracted me into becoming a caregiver is "always wanting to help people." I like making someone smile, and doing little things to make a person's day better. What I like about being a caregiver is seeing my clients smile, listening to their stories, and helping them to become more independent. I am most proud when my clients are happy!!!

Im very caring and compassionate, i love being able to help others. Ive cared for individuals young and old. Ive volunteered for hospice. I have also cared for my mother and brother who both had cancer until their passing. Im not sure if anyone would have to care for me one day. Prayerfully i will receive the same love and compassion that ive shown others.

I have been wanting to further my education in the medical field for a few months but could never really find anywhere who was willing to help me actually learn at the facility rather than having to go to school because I really just cant do both at one time. The medical field has been big in my family since I was little and even though I always told myself I wouldn't do it once I started and fell in love with it.
