Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved elderly people. How kind and full of wisdom they are. How they always have stories to share. I would of prefered take care of just one person vs multiple, because I love sitting down and having one on one time with individuals learning about what their life was all about, even if we have the same conversation every day because they didn't remember having the conversation the day before. I love listening and gaining friends no matter their age. Getting to know the person I care for and build a relationship means the world to me. After all would you want a stranger that you can't connect with and makes you feel awkward bathing you? I know I wouldn't. I believe to be a caregiver you should be patient, kind, and understanding to each unique situation because everyone is going through a struggle. I fell in love with care giving. I am going to school to be a Registered Nurse to continue my path in helping others.

Three years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with Stomach and lung cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she had a stroke and was unable to do much of anything for herself. I took care of my grandparents until my grandma passed away last year. I realized that helping people was something that I really valued and took a job as CNA at the hospital and loved the work I did there. My favorite part was helping the patients to achieve things they thought that they couldn't by offering them an arm to hold onto and some encouraging words.

I am a caring loving mom. I chose to be a caregiver to help others that need help. I love the work I do.

Since I was a child, I have always been very Empathic. Taking care of animals. I saved turtles off the road. Birds that had fallen out of their nest. I raised 5 children. Homeschooling my children gave me a chance to teach my kids more about compassion and thinking of others. I have spent over 30 years looking after my children and now aging parents. I took care of my maternal Grandmother until the day she passed away. I am the primary caregiver for my parents now. I volunteer my time helping Veterans. I also advocate for women/children who have endured S.A./D.V./R/C.A.
