I love what I do as a caregiver, I love helping out or making vulnerable people feel cared for, loved and comfortable by all means because they deserve quality life. My name is Rose Ngugi and have worked as a care giver for over 10 years. I have worked with various kind of clients with all kinds of conditions like Alzheimer's, Dementia, Diabetes, and also mental health. Over time i have realized that care giving is a calling, and it takes patience, kindness and understanding in order to give the best care possible.

Personally i have empathy and compassion to people with various condition like,pple with disability due to impairement,sickly pple who need my assistance. What i enjoy most,is when i give care to the client and help them gain their self confidence and treat them equally and with respect and by the end of the day is rewarding to see that person happy and fulfilled.

I being the first born in my family have done a lot of care in different areas. I was taught by my parents how to love,give attachment, attention, protection and help regardless the kind of situation. I've always been trying to help the elderly back home in severe cases and have been doing this out of my heart I was also a teacher and a counselor back home and this helped me very much to know how I can chip in and give some care I'm always happy when I see someone out of danger and is having some peace. This caregiving job is extremely good because when you are with your clients you relate with them and therefore you feel in the right place and in another family setting. I really enjoy because I feel them as my family forks. I've realized quite some reasonable changes generally in my clients lifestyle and health improvements .when I see they are confident and are trusting me for their care I feel good and honored, so I feel proud of my achievement.

I love playing the piano. I am a cook by profession. Providing care to people who cannot take care of themselves by showing empathy,compassion,reliability and patience. One of my personal achievements is seeing a patient improve under my care.

I pride my self on being able to quickly learn and adapt to any situation. In the past, i have assisted clients with there activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, home exercise, taking vital signs, and maintained a clean household. I try to connect with my client spending time with them, going for a walk and driving to shopping and appointments. Sometime I assisted with laundry, cooking and house keeping depending on what the client ask.

I started caregiving by taking care of my own mother, when I saw how happy she feels by having me around, I felt blessed doing it and when she passed, I extended the same compassion to others. I really enjoy it when I notice that I have made a positive impact on the life of my client; I can remember being called God sent by the wife of one of my clients; the gentleman returned home after spending months at the hospital and rehab, he lost his ability to walk and speak. after I was called in as a caregiver, he regained his mobility and speech because we had to engage with him not just as a client but as a loved one...

The skills and experience I have as a caregiver makes me do my job with confidence. I like helping people in need and that made me have the interest of being a caregiver. I enjoy when I see my clients trust me and feels safe. Clients activities of daily living and achieving their goals. I am happy of what I do to help people in need to live happily in their homes or facility.

I am a people person and love taking care of people. At the end of the day, it makes me feel good to know I helped someone else. I tend to go above and beyond for others, it comes natural for me. Going through the training to become certified has been a personal achievement, I was nervous at first, thought it would take forever. When I finished the training and became certified I felt great, because I could continue taking care of others. I am Covid-19 vaccinated.
