I've lived with and cared for my grandmother for 4 years now. My experience with her has showed me that I am empathetic and patient with her care. I am very detail oriented as I manage her bills, medication, nutrition, appointment's, and general well-being. I enjoy seeing her quality of life flourish as the attention and care I provide brings her to life! I became a caregiver about 20+ years ago after raising my family. My brother was born with a disability and I seen how gentle and loving my mother was with him. I love making a different in the lives of others.after taking care of my grand mother i developed the ability to care for people in need.When I came to the state in 1985 this was the job I acquired and I have being doing it ever since.I had worked in the nursing home setting,,hospital, and private homes. I have a positive impact on my client I smile a lot I'm open to communicate with my client, listened to there concern encouraged them making decisions if the can and to involve them in there care plan.i give ADL care, good hygiene,,cooked, do laundry, serve there meal but if client needs assistance with feeding I will do it. I do client shopping, take client out for recreation, make drs' appointment and take them to there appointment, medications remainder,or administered medications, reports any concerns to family member who is POA.It rewarding when you see your client condition is improving.Care giver job is rewording when you bond with your client and the built trust in you.

One of my personality traits is when someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Some other personality traits that help me be a great caregiver are Trustworthiness, patience, and dependability. I love helping people. I've always had a soft spot for seniors and wanted to make a difference in their lives. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I take pride in my attention to detail. One of my greatest achievements is doing a 15 week nursing contract away from my family a lot.

I have been doing in-home care for 8 years. I love it. I love being able to help the elderly and allowing them to trust me in assisting them with daily living. I have done private duty cases and in home care for agencies. I have excellent references. I am a CNA/GNA and a Med Tech. I am CPR and first aid certified. I'm a very caring person I tend to put peoples needs before my own a lot I grew up with a aunt who was wheel chair bound and I've always admired my grandmother for taking care of her and always made me want to care for those who can't care for them self . It's a bitter sweet moment working in health care being the one these people see in their ending days it's an amazing feeling but being there and watching the transition is kind of hard but it's worth it knowing they had someone by their side the whole time while family members have to continue to work and maintain life a personal achievement would be juggling being a single mom and a caregiver never allowing the two to effect EACHOTHER .. and keeping a loving caring heart with the world we live in today
