I am looking for that one on one care instead of 18 patients as a load, It pays well but I am not getting the satisfaction of what my purpose is for doing direct patient care. At the age of 17, my mother was diagnosed with a neurological disease. After graduating from high school, the only noble and ethical thing to do was to care for her at home. At this tender age, I became a caregiver without a certification or license. I took impeccable care of her until she expired. Through those trying times I realize my heart for caring was more than I thought. I enjoy the look on a resident's face as if to say, "You have been a tower of strength through all this", or my co-worker saying " Great job Nurse A". I am so proud that after my mother's passing I did not keep my God given gift to myself , instead I went back to school and became a licensed care -giver to serve others with excellence.
