I retired in 2014. I loved my job and my patients, but the drive to and from Nashville became so time consuming on top of a 10 hour day. I volunteer at the hospital because I really enjoy helping patients and missed being in the medical field. I received an award at my job for being an outstanding caregiver. Hello, y'all! Will start by briefly explaining my experience as a caregiver- I was a live-in caregiver to a very sweet 91-year-old lady for almost a year. I have also worked in an assisted living home, working with memory care patients. Lastly, I have worked as a caregiver with young people with disabilities and people that flat out need some help and companion care. I love this type of work and being a light in your loved ones day. I have been doing this for almost 7 years and have worked just about every end of the spectrum. I have my home care aid certification. I have lived in Seattle for the past 6 years but am headed back home to Kentucky :)
