What a great caregiver means to me is to be able to show empathy and compassion toward the clients and families that I work with. I have been a caregiver for 20 years: I joined a full-time church ministry and was ordained as clergy. I served as a hospital chaplain for five years in my clergy position. When offering spiritual and moral support to my patients, I discovered I could be involved in extended care. I provided personal hygiene and bathroom services to my patients as a chaplain. This was because I cared so much about my patient's well-being (I do). I did my CNA certification and joined the caregiver's vocation. I have diverse experiences in the medical field and facilities. From 1998-2012 I was self employed running 3 Adult Family Homes in Bothell, Edmonds, Mill Creek. From 2012 due to my divorce I started working for Cascade Companion Care home agency. From 2013 to the present time I am working for VIP Home Care as a privet contractor-caregiver.From 2016 to 2018 I also worked with Husky Home Care as a caregiver specialist and training consultant. Prior 1995 I worked as a nurse for 2 years in Israel and 2 years as a privet companion in Canada.

Hello I tend to be more on the positive side like to see the person smile. Getting to know the person listening to the person telling me about the amazing life. I had a brother who passed from cancer and a mother who passed from dementia. After caring and helping both mother and brother I felt very compassionate for others. Spending time with the person listening to the life stories or experiences they've gone through. The person in my care having a Positive experience while in my care.
