I have been a cna from the time I was 19 I worked for a nursing home for 23 years they closed down and I started working for the sister's as a 11to 7 cna then The position for a activities assistant opened up so I started to work with the sisters with memory impairment.

I first started caregiving when I was 17. My first job was for glorias helping hands. At first i wasnt sure about how i felt about the type of work. I didnt have much experience as to what i was doing. I took some classes and got my rcs1 and crma first. Rcs1 is a residential care specialist and a CRMA is a certified residential medical assistant. As i learned more and worked more I realized that is was my passion to help others who may need some assistance in things they can no longer do. Honestly u really do have to have a passion for this type of work because u never know what could happen or what situation u may end up in. And some of the disabilities, and some health issues can be challenging. Ive been very lucky to continue and have worked and learned various disabilities, as well as illnesses. Today i have my rcs1, pss,cna, and also insulin certified, cpr certified, and first aid certified. I love knowing that I'm making a difference and im helping and am there for someone who needs some support and help in their life.
