Since the young age of 18. I have always love the elderly. I started out in a nursing home and completed my CNA cert which unfortunately is expired cause i let it elapse. I have worked in the health field since 1997 and in 2006 started driving a bus along with doing home healthcare. I tell everyone that i love old people and children everyone else in between is a case by case basis. Its a joke well kinda lol. I believe it takes someone special to be a care giver.

I have always found myself happiest when in service of others. I served in the USMC 2001-2005, and after an Honorable Discharge, I have worked with several Emergency Medical Providers, to include Hospital and Fire Departments. I am well versed with Emergency procedures, but also the finer, personable and more gentle aspects of health care. I am very outgoing, and can strike up conversation with all ages in a respectful manner. In my 10+ years in an ambulance, I have found that easing ones worries with reassurance, and joyful conversation is the best way to alleviate a lot stress...and stress is a major role player in many patient symptoms. I have a knack for feeling out the personality/background of a person, and adapting my actions and communication to have a more productive relationship. I am married with 4 beautiful children, and my Wife is also in the healthcare field. We go to a small town Church, and live in a somewhat rural area. I also have 7 years as a skilled tradesman, so I am no stranger to fixing/repairing small to large projects, if they were to be encountered. My experience as a Father and Firefighter has given me skills in the kitchen preparing meals of all kinds. I am capable of lifting and moving large people with proper/safe techniques. I can relax with the best of them (reading aloud, watching TV, board games, chatting), but am able to be active for long periods of time without fatigue. My wife and I have both been the "go-to" people in our family for our Elders, as we have played an active role in their care-taking during their final years. My experience in the Emergency setting has given me instinct to interpret peoples signs and symptoms before they turn dire. If anything were to happen while I am a caregiver, I know exactly what to do while awaiting additional help. I have never been reprimanded or fired from any job.

I am outgoing and happy. I try to look on the bright side of life. Being positive is important because we get caught up in negativity. I love helping people and feeling like I'm making a difference. That's why I enjoy what I do.

I completed my bachelors in SLP and have become interested in gaining experience with the geriatric population before beginning my externship in the spring. I have always been very fond of the older population since I was very close to and a caregiver for my grandmother as she went through her last years of life in home health care. I look forward to any opportunity to working with this population because I truly connect with them.

I am a great caregiver with many years experience. I'm the oldest in my family and I took care of household while parents worked. My degree is in Special Education and I taught for six years which gave me rich experience taking care of people. When my grandma got sick I was responsible for her care. Now I take care of things for my parents. My dad has cancer and I help them out with whatever they need. I am active at church, belong to a sisters group and volunteer in my community. I am a great companion. Can play many games, love jigsaw puzzles. I enjoy watching movies, cooking, and conversation. I have lived in Lone Jack for 20 years.

Oh boy! I didn't see this section lol, well I absolutely love being a caregiver I was born to do this job! I can't imagine doing anything else. I can sit all day long and listen to them telling stories of how they grew up and lived their lives I just am amazed by so many people it's just wonderful to me it brings a smile to my face I really love it

Graduated high school in 2017z I want to become a care giver because that's just something I've done starting at a young age. I take care of both my grandparents now and will continue to until I can't. I love being around people and having conversations I also like to help people so that's why I' think I'd be a could caregiver.
