I got my Personal Care Aide license in 2006 so I would know how to care for my mother who had cancer and then 2011 tended to my father til his death in 2013. My clients always bragged that I can fold laundry like department store and the fitted sheets like should be folded. That is due to my 10 years in hotels business and many years working Apparel department at Wal-mart. I am currently a greeter at Wal-mart.

I have been caring and compassionate my whole life, I've always felt compelled to help anyone that needed assisting in any fashion. The enjoyment that I get most out of doing this, is knowing that I may somehow in some small way be contributing to making a difference in someone's life at a time when they need it most. I kind of fail into this line of work because I think I am a natural caregiver, I love to care for every loving thing. I come from a long line of caregivers. I was a foster parent for over 5 years and I just loved it. I have been a daycare teacher. For the last 10 years and more I have been a " direct support professional", Working with the intellectually disabled. I am also certified in "Home health Management". What attracted me to caregiving is the instinct to keep people that have disabilities safe. A personal achievement I am proud of is about a 50 year old woman who was not able to put together a 4 to 6 piece puzzle not even interested in learning how to put on a pair of socks, afraid to walk up or down steps but with patience and persistence she can do these things and is enyjoying learning new things.

I am a single 51 year old Certified Nursing Assisant. I have been talking care of people for 13 years or more. In between working at nursing homes and care for my own parents, I have been attending college online for Business Management in Health care for the last 3 years.
