Hello my name is latoria I'm a certified nursing assistant I've been in the field for 3 to 4years and I love it I became a caregiver when my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 I took care of her until she passed in 2011 every since then i enjoy taking care of peopler just being there for them whenever they need someone to talk to. I'm very proud of the woman I've become today raising my 6month old was the best blessing in my life. I hope to bring my love and compassion into your lives as your caregivers!
I became a caregiver, when my mother became very ill. I decieded to stop working with my employer to take of my mother. I new everything about her and her needs. I new what it takes to care for her and I could spend all the time in the world with her. My mother was very important to me and my siblings and I couldn't trust anyone at the time of her sickness. I thought it would be hard and tiresome but it wasn't. We became more closer. She shared a lot of important things with me that I never knew about. I was glad to able to be in good health to take care of my mother who is so important to me and my siblings. I'm a proud daughter to know I was able to be there when she needed me and I was a shoulder she could lean on and a ear to listen to all the things she wanted to say, my mother was the best thing that ever happen to me. She was always there when we needed her. She cried when we cried, she hurt when we hurt, she was my only best friend and now she past away I truly miss her. I wish I can turn back the hands of time just to spend a little more time with her. She taught me everything I needed to know about life and how to appreciate the things we go through. She was the best of all mothers. So that's why I love working as a caregiver, it helps you help others go through their situation a little bit better, and give them comfort when they don't have anyone else to talk too. I give them hope of relief, my mother taught and showed me that. I love helping people who can't hel
I want to become a caregiver, because I love helping people putting a smile on their faces. Last year my father had a stroke. I took care of him. Washing his clothes, make sure he took his medication. Take him what every he need to go. I'll cook for him. Made sure he had a smile on his face. That's why I enjoyed helping him.. I'm fun outgoing person, nice and always respectful. Do what I am told. Do everything to my best abilities..
I kinda always was a caregiver and didn't know it. Both of my parents worked and I was much older than my step brother and sister, so I did all the house work and taking care of them from an early age. I also grew up with my aunt who was a spastic quadriplegic, so I learned how to do a lot there. I have had many patients, most were the ones everyone else had bad trouble with. I'm kinda the guy, that I can handle pretty much anything from full Dementia, to full quadriplegic. I have my state license in CNA, ACNA, and Phlebotomy. I have excellent experience and very good references. The last question that I am proud of is: My mother was passing in the hospital and couldn't have her placed in a home. So I brought her home with me and kept her alive for another month before she passed away with me. At the end she had full blown dementia, it was quite an ordeal to go through. So with that experience it has taught me a lot of what other families could be going through.
I have been, and still am, a personal caregiver for my spouse who has Alzheimer's dementia. The experience gained by being there 24/7 is something that cannot be taught in school. Faith, patience, strength, and a great sense of humor will always carry me through any day. It is a personal reward that I gain by assisting others, something that is hard to measure by any means other than what you feel inside. Being the individual that gives the family member the ability to remove themselves for a short time is something of great value, this I know from personal experience. I am 61 years old and have always loved to take care of others and I feel it necessary in life to make a difference in the lives of others. I do not have a medical background, but my personal experience has been my on-the-job training and I want to use what I have learned to assist someone else. What I do have is the ability to cook, clean, assist with or run errands, or maybe just sit and keep someone else company. My husband and I worked jointly for many years, but his medical issues no longer allow this to continue. I do need to work and we have a son and daughter-in-law living next door that can fill in for me to take local employment. I want to make a difference in someone else's life, be the reason someone smiles and hopefully has a better day.
Im sierra! Im 23 years old and currently working my way towards nursing school. I have 10 years experience of babysitting and 6 years experience of elderly care sitting. I have been responsible for companionship, feeding, bathing, meals and medications. I am CPR and basic health certified. I have completed CNA and Phlebotomy certification classes as well.
I have always been interested in the health field. When I was younger I recall seeing my great uncle in the hospital and all the machines and functions that each caregiver gave really amazed me. During my CNA training, we were placed in a nursing home for 6 weeks to get on the job training, in this time I went out of my way to do many different things that most other caregivers would not think of or remember to do. I love to help others and make anyone as comfortable as possible. When caring for anyone I always think "What if this were my family member?" and that makes me strive even harder to please the person that I'm caring for.
