Growing up as a kid I saw a lot of death and sickness in my family. My grandmother took care of everyone in the family. So seeing her be strong and holding the family together during tough times made me compassionate on helping others. What I love most about being a caregiver is putting a smile on my patients face that lets me know my job is well done. I have 18 years of experience in health care.

I am 28 years old. I provide direct patient care within the long term care, assisted living, home health and hospital settings. I have several years of experience, along with travel CNA experience. Hello my name is latoria I'm a certified nursing assistant I've been in the field for 3 to 4years and I love it I became a caregiver when my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 I took care of her until she passed in 2011 every since then i enjoy taking care of peopler just being there for them whenever they need someone to talk to. I became a caregiver, when my mother became very ill. I decieded to stop working with my employer to take of my mother. I new everything about her and her needs. I new what it takes to care for her and I could spend all the time in the world with her. My mother was very important to me and my siblings and I couldn't trust anyone at the time of her sickness. I thought it would be hard and tiresome but it wasn't. We became more closer. She shared a lot of important things with me that I never knew about. I was glad to able to be in good health to take care of my mother who is so important to me and my siblings. I'm a proud daughter to know I was able to be there when she needed me and I was a shoulder she could lean on and a ear to listen to all the things she wanted to say, my mother was the best thing that ever happen to me. She was always there when we needed her. She cried when we cried, she hurt when we hurt, she was my only best friend and now she past away I truly miss her. I wish I can turn back the hands of time just to spend a little more time with her. She taught me everything I needed to know about life and how to appreciate the things we go through. She was the best of all mothers. So that's why I love working as a caregiver, it helps you help others go through their situation a little bit better, and give them comfort when they don't have anyone else to talk too. Hello! I'm a kind hearted, loving person who never meets a stranger. I treat my patients and clients like they are my family. I wanted to become a caregiver since I was a little girl and experienced my grandpa going through cancer and his caregivers were wonderful! I wanted to be able to provide that kind of care to others!

I kinda always was a caregiver and didn't know it. Both of my parents worked and I was much older than my step brother and sister, so I did all the house work and taking care of them from an early age. I also grew up with my aunt who was a spastic quadriplegic, so I learned how to do a lot there. I have had many patients, most were the ones everyone else had bad trouble with. I'm kinda the guy, that I can handle pretty much anything from full Dementia, to full quadriplegic. I have my state license in CNA, ACNA, and Phlebotomy. I have excellent experience and very good references. The last question that I am proud of is: My mother was passing in the hospital and couldn't have her placed in a home. So I brought her home with me and kept her alive for another month before she passed away with me. At the end she had full blown dementia, it was quite an ordeal to go through. So with that experience it has taught me a lot of what other families could be going through.
