Hello My name is Lakisha, I am a experienced Caregiver, Patient Care Technician (with training through Paoli Hospital) and a Certified Medical assistant. I am going on my 8th year in the medical field and I enjoy it. My grandmother who had Parkinson's Diease inspired me to get into the medical field. Taking care of her with bathing, meal prep, medication reminders, transfers, shopping and light housekeeping kept me busy and made me realize my passion and empathy for caring and taking care of others. Now that she passed away I've got plenty of training through programs and schools. I also work privately at a retirement home with a couple of experienced caregivers.
I have a strong desire to work with elderly and individuals with disabilities. My hands-on experiences have prepared me well to perform Home Health Aid tasks such as providing personal care to clients including oral hygiene, nail care, dressing, feeding, bathing and skin care. I am an expert in cooking nutritious meals, taking vital signs and assisting clients in the activities of daily living using different techniques. Moreover, my superb communication skills and ability to work without supervision will make me an asset to your family or organization. My biggest accomplishment was being able to contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life. I am able to speak Kreol, French and basic Spanish.

I Would Be A Great Caregiver Because I Love To Socialize With People And Make People Feel Comfortable. I Know What It Is Like For A Family To Struggle With Caring For A Loved One, And I Chose To Be The Person That Can Offer Relief In That Very Difficult Time. I Am A Recent Graduate Of A Medical Assistant Program, & A Mother Of A 1 Year Old Daughter So I Understand What It Is To Feed, Clothe, Bathe, And Love Someone Daily. In My Training At School (Pennsylvania Institute Of Technology) I Learned CPR, How To Take Blood Pressure, How To Check Blood Sugar, How To Check For Respiration, Wrap Bandages, How To Dispense Medications, How To Bathe A Person etc. I Aspire To Make A Difference In At Least One Person's Life, Which I Believe Is One Of The Key Fundamentals To Healthcare, And I Solemnly Swear To uphold That Expectation.
I became a care giver to help the elderly. i love it when they tell their family stories and how they meet their spouse. i love helping them to contiune to live their life style the way they are use to as much they i can. I have worked with the elderly for over 15 years and have worked with demetia and alzheimer's for over 6yrs. I been certified nursing assistant since 1998 believe in treating the elderly with the respect and dignity. i am a hard worker and a team player im also very observant and have compassionant for my clients.
I am unique I have experience and I am compassionate for elders that are in need. Empathy is something else I bring to the table I am all for the client. When I was a child my grandmother became sick and needed assistance from caregivers they treated her well, furthermore she was an LPN and only wanted the best interest for her patients. I thought it would be great to help elders also have a positive mind set even on a not so good day. Have patience and listen. I must be reliable for my client and the family there is a job that needs to be done and I want them to know they can depend on me. I am trustworthy and honesty is a must. I've watched aides help my grandmother from 1996 to 2004 and they showed me things everyday they came so I would be able to help out myself when they are not there. I started working in home care 2009 after graduating school for medical assisting. I bring great work ethics love and care. Everyone needs someone to depend on and that is me. Thank you
I'm a great caregiver because I believe everyone is a human being and should be treated as such, having companion and respect for other people in my opinion makes you a caring and compassionate individual. I became a caregiver because there is nothing like the feeling of knowing you make a difference in someone's life. And also because I have a 21yr old daughter with special needs and would like for her to have a great caregiver when I'm no longer around. My mission and goal is to become and Registered Nurse so I can continue to care for people.
