The number one thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is knowing that I'm helping to make someone else's day just that much easier and or enjoyable. I've met some of the most interesting and grateful people working in my role as a caregiver. Whether it was a simple task that has to be done or one that requires a little more skillfulness, at the end of it all was improved quality of life for someone in need. I love cooking and being creative in the kitchen, trying new recipes and learning from more experienced cooks. Gardening and growing my own food feeds right into that love for cooking nutritional meals. Watching others enjoy them is a bonus. I'm compassionate, a good listener and understanding. Everyone has a story to tell and I'm happy to slow down and engage. One personal achievement I'm proud of is going back to school and getting my Associate Degree. I'd been on and off with college for a very long time and it felt good to stick with a topic of interest until the end. It's introduced me to like-minded people and continues to help me in my volunteer ventures in our community and food system.

My passion is Home Health Care. I believe that an individual should be able to stay in their home and receive cares while remaining as independent as possible. I am a confident and professional caregiver. One of my main skills is figuring out all of the client's nuances that will help me to work along with them to make cares at home as comfortable as possible. I am respectful of boundaries. I know that it can be difficult to have a new person come into your home so I try to ease into cares at the client's pace.

I am a very caring person and friendly. I do quality work and I love to help others in any way that I can. I became a caregiver because I enjoyed spending time with other generations, other than my own, and understanding their perspective. I also became a caregiver because I love helping others in any way that I can. I got my CNA certification about 8 months ago and I have worked (and still am working) 2 jobs doing in home care. Experienced with Prostheses, Heart Disease, Stroke, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Parkinson's, Arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis diagnoses; however, open to helping any adult, especially seniors. Trained in Sit-to-Stand and Hoyer lifts, Diabetic wound & pressure ulcer care, oxygen tanks, and Range-of-Motion exercises. I am going to be 50 I just remarried I am proud of myself and my accomplished I am a good caretaker very proficient .. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant because I have always wanted to go into the medical field. When starting the program I realized is that I cared for people and they cared for me as well. I engage with every person that I take care of as if it were myself or family member, making sure that all their needs and the needs of the family are taken care of and they are happy and feel a sense of relief and comfort when they have the right person as a caregiver. I enjoy every aspect of being a caregiver but what I personally enjoy is making them happy, talkative, peaceful and special. I just don't take care of their main cares I take care of the person and what is meaningful to them. A personal achievement that I have had is continuing on for over 7 years as a CNA and finishing school soon as a RN. I am a very outgoing, happy, get what needs to be done diligently and timley, while still making sure that the people I am around are content and happy with the environment and my company as well. I enjoy getting to know people and their experiences and allowing them to blossom under the correct care. I have a true passion for helping others. I know how to be empathetic with others.I cared for my elderly father until he was taken by the Lord. I spent 2 semesters in nursing school and have much experience dealing with the frail elderly and developmentally disabled. I also had the opportunity to do some work at our state mental health facility. I used to contract with the county for Supportive Home care and Specialized Medical Vehicle transportation Services.I have raised 3 wonderful children and am currently enjoying being a first time Grandmother. I love decorating and gardening.
