My grandfather was the First elderly Person I gave care , the smile on his face and joy in my heart giving him the proper care made me have interest in caregiving as a job. I've been in the nursing field since 1980 Convalescent Home Acute Care setting Mental Health and In home care But it became a passion when I started caring for my 95 year old great grandmother in the south just the passion in caring for someone who need it make my heart and soul feel worthy.

I became a caregiver in 2005. I was a teacher, got laid off and wanted meaningful employment. I had nursing skills from my country of origin, where I was a RN; so I decided to try care giving which I find rewarding, I enjoying making a difference in someone's life who has loss their ability to do things for themselves and to better cope with whatever situation they are in. I also have experience with hospice care. I have experience with Alzheimer and Dementia care . Iam also on the IHHS nursing registry. I am a soft hearted person. I always believe that I can fix the world and make everything better. I always go above and beyond to help everyone even if it means I stay without. What made me become a caregiver was when my dad was in a recovery home and a patient next to him had no one to visit him and he was so sad. He said to me, "I wish I had a daughter like you". After finding out he had no one, I told him "You just got one". The smile and happiness on his face did it for me. I gave love, hug him and took little things to him he liked. Sadly he passed about 1 month later. That is the reason I love not like being a caregiver. To give love and happiness at their time of need. My personal achievement that I am so proud of is writing and completing my book. I am a Domestic Violence survivor and my book tells my story. I am also proud and happy that I worked for 10 years working for ACTOR AND WRITER MR. SIDNEY REZNICK until he passed in 2004. I hope when I finally get it published, it can help someone. I love to help and care for defenseless people and give them as much love and happiness I can. I have been working as a caregiver for the past 15 years.

What makes me a great care giver is that I take pride in what I do. I put my clients first I respect my clients and make sure to work with them according to their needs.
