Besides experience and knowledge I acquired from nursing school, helping others has always been my passion. I find joy and fulfillment knowing I make a difference in someone else's life. I am patient and willing to adjust to the needs of my clients. I try to put myself in their shoes, to try and understand them. I treat my patients with love and respect, and with dignity, just like how I would want to be treated if I was in their same situation. Since I was a young age, I have always been interested in helping other people. I enjoy helping others who have trouble helping themselves especially the elderly. I completed my vocational nursing studies in 2012 and it was at that point I realised that helping people is my calling. I love that being a caregiver, you can make a difference. It's a rewarding experience providing care and assistance to those who are no longer able to do so and to know that I have done my job right when I see smiles on their faces. First and foremost I love my job, I love making a difference in people's lives Secondly I'm a mother who took care of two sweet babies by myself, so since the people we support some times need tenderness, I have all the skills to handle them with care and love Thirdly , I'm very calm and patient person, most of the patients we give care for need to be handled patiently especially those with dementia. And some patients are get problems with adjusting to new care givers in their homes, so me being a professional care giver I have the capacity to fit in and make sure they get comfortable with me.

I've been in the nursing field since 1980 Convalescent Home Acute Care setting Mental Health and In home care But it became a passion when I started caring for my 95 year old great grandmother in the south just the passion in caring for someone who need it make my heart and soul feel worthy.

I became a caregiver in 2005. I was a teacher, got laid off and wanted meaningful employment. I had nursing skills from my country of origin, where I was a RN; so I decided to try care giving which I find rewarding, I enjoying making a difference in someone's life who has loss their ability to do things for themselves and to better cope with whatever situation they are in. I also have experience with hospice care. I have experience with Alzheimer and Dementia care . Iam also on the IHHS nursing registry. I am a soft hearted person. I always believe that I can fix the world and make everything better. I always go above and beyond to help everyone even if it means I stay without. What made me become a caregiver was when my dad was in a recovery home and a patient next to him had no one to visit him and he was so sad. He said to me, "I wish I had a daughter like you". After finding out he had no one, I told him "You just got one". The smile and happiness on his face did it for me. I gave love, hug him and took little things to him he liked. Sadly he passed about 1 month later. That is the reason I love not like being a caregiver. To give love and happiness at their time of need. My personal achievement that I am so proud of is writing and completing my book. I am a Domestic Violence survivor and my book tells my story. I am also proud and happy that I worked for 10 years working for ACTOR AND WRITER MR. SIDNEY REZNICK until he passed in 2004. I hope when I finally get it published, it can help someone. I love to help and care for defenseless people and give them as much love and happiness I can. I have been working as a caregiver for the past 15 years.
