You don't have to be born or aged to have a disability. I feel that any one of us could be disabled if an accident happens. And if that did happen, I would hope that I had caring individuals to also help me. I want to help and care for someone the way I would want to be cared for. To be respected the way I would want respect. I enjoy being able to help. Bringing someone into your home requires a lot of trust. I am honest and trustworthy. My greatest achievement has been being able to witness true happiness in a highly disabled individual!

Being in the hair industry for a long time , I am a very caring person, you have too,,,it's not just all about your hair! No I haven't gone to nursing school, but I have common sense and love to help and take care of people. I have raised 3 boys, 1 daughter who passed in 1994. My oldest son has special needs, autistic. so I know the ends and outs of someone needing assistance and help on a daily basis! My mother passed when I was young with lung cancer, so I dealt with that, my father was a heart patient..both my grandmothers had something with them as well...so I have basically been raised into taking care of people, as sad as that sounds. Honestly, I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't "helping" someone with something or someone!

I think I would be a perfect person because I love old people! They are so cute and they just need someone around to talk with. I am passionate at everything I do and put my best foot forward in my work. I feel like I have spent the majority of my career caring for others and it gives me the most pleasure. I have a father who does not get around that well. He has relied on me to help him. A personal achievement I am most proud of would be having my daughter. She is a ball of energy and keeps me on my toes. Everyone who meets her loves her. She has been my best achievement in life. She makes me strive for more out of life and makes me want to push myself more and more every single day.
Skills & Certifications: Depression, Hearing Disorders, Skin Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease

I believe I am a great caregiver because I genuinely care for the people I take care of and treat them as if they were my own family. I want them to be happy when they see me and be able to confidently say I take good care of them. A few years ago, I never saw myself doing this type of work whatsoever. I honestly really needed a job and a local nursing home hired me and took me through classes to get certified! I found myself there for over a year and I knew almost everyone by name on all of the halls. I had a special bond with one lady in particular and she always loved seeing me come into her room. She always made sure to tell me how good I'm doing. Overall, just knowing I am helping those who cannot help themselves gives me some sense of purpose and it makes me feel good. You get close to the people you take care of and they become like a grandma or grandpa to you. My favorite part about having a little extra time and sitting down to talk to some of the residents. I'm fascinated by what things were like 50+ years ago and hearing all about their life and experiences. I also enjoy looking at pictures with them. Every single one of them have different quarks and personalities and it's so fun talking to some of them. I am most proud of the way I can confidently say that I take GOOD care of my residents and that I do it for more than just a check. If I can go home with a clear mind and know for sure I did the best of my ability, I know I'm doing something right. I care for them like I would want someone to care for my mom or grandparents.

I am a dedicated individual whom understands what the words dependable, hardworking and detailed oriented means. I am very self motivated and self determined. I've always been good at taking care of others. I have a way of understanding what others are going through by listening and putting myself in there position. I can understand most my patients and sick and uncomfortable and that my job is to make them as less frustrated with themselves about not being able to do things and to help them be more comfortable with themselves and their environment. I also know I must encourage independence and help when I am needed. I am certified to administer insulin to patients and all forms Medications.
