My biggest passion is caring and helping people in need. It is a very fulfilling and important part of my life. When I'm not working, I spend my leisure time kayaking, walking/hiking, reading, being creative and taking care of myself and my home. Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.

Becoming a Caregiver was out of necessity, to fulfill one woman's simple request of not being placed into a nursing home. She had had a challenging childhood: daily nourishment often was tea and bread; coats were used as blankets during the evening. She persevered during her marriage, raising a brood of children while being the dutiful wife. So, when called upon, it was an opportunity to give back. I have found that I have great resolve, have not floundered in my integrity, and have given care with compassion and kindness. In doing so, I have been greatly rewarded.

I started my career in health care in 2005, I am compassionate and reliable. I have experienced a lot in the last 13 years related to this field. I have experience with Alzheimer's, prosthetics, medication administration, colostomy, trachs, just to name a few.

I became a caregiver when I realized how much I loved assisting and helping elderly, as I do my own grandparents. I started out first with a private patient, a retired Firefighter, whom I acquired thru a family friend and became his full time CG! Once my job was longer needed I knew I had to get certified and back into the field, and that's where I found my first agency to work for. My greatest personality trait would have to be my smile and willingness to be an open ear to my patients. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of gaining along with being a certified HHA is graduating with my associates degree. I have to say what I enjoy the most being in the field is knowing I made a difference in my patient's or their families lives.

I grew up in a military family and we lived overseas as well as the USA. I saw Carelinx was looking for people to be caregivers to our veterans and that caught my attention. I love all aspects of what I do. I love working in the home, and have a flying-under-the-radar personality. I like to be in the background when necessary, and otherwise be fully engaged. I was a babysitter when i was a teenager after taking the American Red Cross babysitter course. I enjoy being of service. I love cooking for people, and making their favorite meals. I can cook vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc. I began working in the home as a nanny. I have nanny training and a bachelors degree. Eventually I began working as a private cook for dual-career families. When that was slow I worked as an elder caregiver on private duty teams and gained a wide variety of experience. As I have always had dogs, I also work as a dog walker/petsitter and will do overnight and vacation care. I have trainings in Medication Administration and Alzheimers.

I started by caring for my mom. she had a stroke and cancer. so i went to LNA school to care for her. I also had to move her from her home so i can care for her and my three kids. I like the smile on there face when they see me that alone make me feel like just showung up made there day.my personal gitf is taking care of my mom she have 12 kids out off nine me and one of my brothers took care of her for five years. that i am very proud of.I am a very heart felt person in my family.I help keep the family together by having alot of family get togethers.thats my job. in a family of 12
