I decided that I should give it a try when it was my time to choose a profession. Once I got into the field at nineteen years old, I fell in love with being a caregiver and I have since then within my seven years of experience prided myself on making sure I give the best care to each and every patient I've had the pleasure to care for. What makes me a good caregiver is that I go above and beyond to please the patients I am caring for and I do my absolute best to make them feel comfortable as well as just enjoying being a wonderful companionship. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. *Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver, will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. *Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. *Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for.

Hey!!! My name is Kadie; I am a Psychology student at Virginia Commonwealth University in pursuit of becoming an Occupational Therapist. Growing up as a child I always had a calling for helping/tending to people. I try to always put myself in other people's shoes so that way I always treat others the way I would want to be treated. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant gives me the opportunity to do exactly what I love to do; which is help those who are in need. I don't look at it as a job, but more so a dream and goal. I want to be able to do everything in my power to make sure the ones I take care of are at peace and at their highest level of comfort with me.
