My main strength is my ability to communicate with people from all walks of life. By being able to communicate effectively, I am able to more clearly understand not only what patients are needing, but how I can effectively assist them. This ensures I do the right thing the first time and there are no miscommunication problems.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I love all the elderly like my own. I like taking care of my grandparents and I love hearing all there stories from the past and I love spending time with the elderly. My compassion for others is one of the many things that would make me a great caregiver. My grandmother was sick for a long period of time in my life and me and my family helped assist her in many different ways which is why I'm attracted to become a caregiver. I enjoy helping others who cannot do certain things for themselves but I also would allow them to be independent in someways. While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.

I have been taking care of people for about 14 years now. I absolutely love to help people and help people get better. I've had several family members I've taken care of after surgeries, ones with cancer, diabetes, heart attacks,etc. I had 2 years of nursing school so I enjoy doing it. I have a great personality and always carry a smile. My job is never completed until my client is happy and smiling!!!

It's my passion to assist individuals who need help with daily activities. I have been helping family members and close family friends for a long time. One personal achievement that I'm most proud of is, recognizing the signs and symptoms of a stroke in a person. By the time we got to the emergency room, she seemed ok. They were considering sending her home, but I knew something wasn't right. I advocated for her, and they kept her. We received a phone call one hour later saying that she was being life flighted. She was in grave condition, and they didn't expect her to make it. The doctor said that had she went home and went to sleep, he was sure she would have passed. I cherished the training, and the knowledge to calmly, yet efficiently do my job, it saved her life.
