Hi there, My name is Sandy and I am 44 years old . I am a mother of 3 amazing young boys and a caretaker by heart. I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years and currently hold a position as a patient registration specialist /financial counselor at the local hospital after working for a local internist as a medical assistant for 13 years. I also earned my certified nursing certificate in 2004 . I have worked in convalescent homes, doctors offices as well as private homes. I am a very compassionate person and is sensitive to each individual needs. I am very organized , trustworthy and responsible and have excellent references. I can do light house work, yard work and errands as necessary. Since I am a mother of 3 boys , I have a sense of humor and thick skin when needed. I have seen it all as I have worked in all kinds of medical facilities so no need to be embarrassed or ask me for my help.

I am a very upbeat and happy person. I love to make people smile, laugh and enjoy life. I am kind, patient, dependable, honest, trustworthy, gentle, hard working, intelligent, compassionate, understanding, and have a great sense of humor. I love animals, all of them! My favorite place to be is outdoors, primarily hiking and swimming. I truly enjoy meeting new people. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I enjoy reading, writing, board and card games, movies, cleaning, cooking. When my fraternal grandmother entered a care home when I was 12, I went to visit her every day. I was shocked to see how many elderly patients had no one who visited them. So I unofficially became a volunteer and would visit other residents; reading to them, talking, playing games, dancing, whatever brought a little joy back into their lives. Caregiving has been a part of my life ever since. I took care of my maternal grandmother who had severe rheumatoid arthritis and Dementia in her home until she passed away. I then moved my mother in with me when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimers and cared for her until her death 10 years later. I also cared for one of my brothers who was diagnosed with end stage Dementia at the age of 58 and passed away right before his 61st birthday. So I completely understand what loved ones must go through as family members become older, sick, or suffer from an injury. What I enjoy most about being a Caregiver is simply helping someone who needs it, especially if it allows them to remain in their own home. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising such loving, kind, respectful, and amazing children.

From a young age I've been caring for others - siblings, family members, neighbors, in-home childcare and candy-striping. Professionally, I was a Caregiver for a time at a local assisted living facility and entered the world of in-home care in 2019. In-home caregiving fills the needs of my clients but also a need in myself. I've tried other professions but just didn't find it to be as fulfilling. One of my clients who has worked with several care providers over the years told me that I'm just wired for home care. He said that some people do this for work while others do it as in inner calling. I think that fits. I'm a quick learner. I'm patient and attentive. I'm dedicated, reliable, and trustworthy. I'm a clear communicator and a good listener. I have an intuitive side that helps me assess when it's time to slow down or wait. I believe in client-centered care; encouraging independence where possible and gently supporting where not. I truly enjoy this work and have a positive attitude. I've assisted people with advanced disabilities, various forms of dementia, recovering from injuries or surgery, navigating end of life, and those needing help with basic household tasks. Have been a caregiver for 7 years. Was a cna for 5 years and have aquired skills needed to be a caregiver as well as being experienced with different type of people in all walks of life. I love being able to provide care and make someone's day better. Knowing that I made a difference in someone's life is the ultimate blessing. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better! I am 24 years old, I moved into the Grass Valley/Nevada City area when I was just 9 years old. Living with my 60+ year old grandparents, I attended Bear River High School and had plentiful friends. I worked small jobs like McDonalds, Dickies and Tractor Supply and finally stumbled upon the joys of caregiving through a friend who was working as one. I immediately fell in love. The atmosphere reminded me of my home, old school music and the stories, miles long. I enjoy spending my time absorbing the knowledge, humor and wisdom that so many folks have to offer. I lived with my loving grandparents until 2017, when I carved time away from my family to attend Nursing Assistant school in Sacramento.
