I'm a 25 year old young lady just wanting to work hard and help my elders.

I am 28 years old, I have been a caregiver over 22 years. I was my parents caregiver before they passed away, I enjoy being a caregiver because I love caring for others, I love being their support, I love helping them realize that they can do the impossible, and I love trying to fill an empty void some families have because they don't have that family member there to help them. I enjoy helping, making memories with my clients, and helping strengthen them in what they feel they are weak in. Caregivers maybe the backbone in helping the clients, but honestly when I see that the clients have achieve or I have helped them it gives me strength that I have been looking for.

MY compassion and empathy for people in need of that extra special care because of limited mobility and age make me want to help. My caregiving came from my mom who was a private caregiver who gave her all to her patients and I watched her and decided then I wanted to be a caregiver because of the love and care she had for these people. I love when at the end of my shift my resident say's see you tomorrow. When I became a certified nursing assistant and understood what an important difference I could make in people's lives. I just love it period...

I have enjoyed being a caregiver for a few years now. It's something that just kinda fell in my lap. My stepdad had a stroke an was going to be put in the nursing home as he had no one to care for him to go home. So I offered to give it a try so he could be at home while he progresses. I went to the hospital an stay a few days before he was released an nurses an doctors spend alot of time with me explaining do an don't s. He had to help with everyday all day normal of liveing. Bathing, changing diapers because he wasn't able to walk. Cooking cleaning an therapy . Lots of therapy an also had to where a vest to shock his heart if it was to stop working. Over time was very emotional has I never believed I could make a difference like I did. But he was albe to walk again an on his own. An upgrade to useing the bathroom on his own . All but sometimes help with bathing. He's still doing good an still needs help. But progressed enough where he only needs me part time. I worked hard an always kept a smile on my face to encourage him to keep moving forward. During this time I also started doing part time help with my grandmother an concerns she had. An I e learned so much over the passed few years an enjoyed knowing I could help that I decided to continue offering my guidance. I learned things I never thought would happen an makes me smile knowing I can give a smile!

I am a lovable people person! I love helping people! I get my enjoyment being a caregiver by seeing people smile & helping them!

Why am I a caregiver? Because I love people and I want to help people to meet their daily physical needs when they are not able to do so on their own. What I like about being a Caregiver is being able to give them the feeling that they are still people, they are still somebody and I want them to know that I care, I also want them to be able to talk to me about anything. My personal achievement that I am proud of is when my brother was ill and I had to become his caregiver. I would not change that moment for nothing in the world. I still had a full time job but I still came home after long hours of work to take care of him and relief my sister after she has been there with him all day. As I was his caregiver I watch him go from worst to better, not only by caring for him but by loving and making sure he get what he needed so as bath, meals, medicine, making calls to the hospice service when there was a certain need that I was not able to meet. I felt so happy but sad at the same time, just knowing that i made a difference in his life- sad to see him go through. But with the grace and mercy of God I made it through. To tell something about myself. I would say that I am a quiet person, I pretty much stay to myself. I attend a baptist church in Soperton, Ga. I work at Trane in Vidalia , Ga. I love being a caregiver because I get to interact with a so many different people. I have been a caregiver all my life but a certified care giver for 3 years. I love it when I can make a person day brighter and better.

My grandmother & grandfather was nurses/ caregivers.Grandmother was also a doctor.Grandfather was a nurse stationed o er seas in WW 2. Raised to respect those in need.Be kind ,considerate,& humble.Helping those in need is a gift.
