My name is Katerrica and I have been a caregiver/CNA for 15 years. I have multiple people in my family, including my mother, who have been in the healthcare field all of my life. The compassion and fulfillment they receive from this career is what inspired me to become a CNA. I love being a help to others and providing care for people who cannot provide care for themselves. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is developing a trusting relationship with my patients and assisting them with their activities of daily living. Receiving a simple smile or thank you makes it worth the while. A personal achievement that I am proud of are my two beautiful children. I grew up in Baton Rouge where I enjoyed spending many weekends volunteering and visiting nursing homes as well as spending time with my father's special education students. I am the oldest of 4 children and took on the role of a caregiver at a young age. I'm married to a Navy veteran and years ago in between moving from San Diego, CA to my husband's new duty station in Jacksonville, FL, I was able to spend several months living with, caring for, and helping my grandmother recover following a stroke. That experience really inspired me to start working as a caregiver in Florida before becoming a stay-at-home mother to my son when he was born. I then spent some years working at my son's school before eventually homeschooling my son. Caregiving has been continuous throughout my life and comes naturally to me. I enjoy spending time with seniors, hearing their stories, and being able to help make their lives better or easier even if it's just in a small way. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, spending time in nature, and quality time with my family.

Im a very detailed and patient centered caregiver. Im extremely thorough on skin care and what i need to do . im a very good at cleaning and house work and cooking .I've been a cna for 11 years now and was a director for a homecare company for 2 years . I currently just moved to louisiana . I currently work night shift at Christus ST. Francis Cabrini Hospital so I am willing to work around that schedule and work longer hours on my days off ,work morning after the Hospital.

My parents were in the military. I was raised by my grandparents. My grandmother became a live-in caregiver when I was 12 years old. I spent a lot of time helping her care for 2 elderly people. When my grandparents became unable to care for themselves, I took them into my home. I loved them both dearly through all the struggles of aging and illness. Read many books on how to care for them. They have both passed away. I easily connect with older people. I am honest and a dedicated worker. I am a single mom of three. My oldest daughter is a music teacher, my second daughter is serving active duty in the US Navy, and my youngest daughter is 13 and lives at home with me. I am employed as a legal secretary at a law firm in Jena, Louisiana. I am interested in caring for someone in the evenings and/or weekends.
