I'm a person that likes to help others, I'm someone that is compassionate, quick learner, dependable, and caring. I got in this field because of my great grandmother and grandmother, taking care of them showed me that this is what I wanted to do. To help people, to make them feel good and help them with they daily routine. My goal right now is to finish my studies and become a register nurse.

I am a state Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician with over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field. I have a good attitude and wonderful work ethic and can keep things running smoothly. Employing someone who is always willing to put in the extra effort, can make all the difference in the world. I have extensive experience in the healthcare field at hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home care settings as well as Mother and Baby, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Med-Surg, ICU, Telemetry, Shock Trauma, Phyc, Escorting clients to and from Dr. appointments, running errands, lite housekeeping, medication remindedr, taking vital signs and reporting any deviations to the nurse and working with patients that have Alzheimer's , Dementia and Stroke's. I also have nineteen years of raising a child with physical and developmental delays; I have in-depth knowledge of Customer Service, Patient Safety, Infection Control practices and ability to use computers. I am a person that can work well for consecutive hours with little or no supervision and still get the job done right. I have experience working in a busy medical environment where every situation required immediate attention. I quickly learned how to handle various medical situations professionally and efficiently using my own knowledge and any available resources. Working as a compassionate healthcare provider has been one of the best accomplishments that I have done in life yet far. I have met so many people that has influenced my life in one way or another and I am a people person and love to be there to do something that will change someone else's life.

I have 22 years experience with caring for others with Cancer, Dementia, Diabetes and Stroke patients, that's just to name a few. I do meal preparations, bathing, light housework and running errands. Basically whatever is needed of me. I have experience with the Hoyer Lift and Transfer board. I have my CPR and First Aid and also I'm a Certified Medicine Technician. I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

The personality traits that make me a great caregiver are empathetic, patient, loving, and understanding. What attracted me to be a caregiver is that I love supporting families in caring for their loved ones and the joy they have as I serve and minister to them. What I enjoy most is improvement in my clients and developing a lasting relationship for years to come. My proudest personal achievement is seeing my Mom alive every day and enjoying spending time with my greatest supporter!

I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. I love working closely with families and clients to make sure their care and companionship needs are met. I am able to adapt quickly to different working environments. I firmly believe in providing compassionate care to enhance the quality of life for an individual. As a former employee of Snakemans Tattoo Studio I learned the importance of sterilization, blood borne pathogen safety, and customer service. I also learned the value of communication, critical thinking skills, time management, and teamwork while working as a CNA at Golden Living Center and Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury (SVWC).
