I have been a professional caregiver for the elderly off and on for 15 years. I specialize in Alzheimer's and Dementia.

I'm always happy, very caring and always smiling. I do have a lot of experience. I enjoy helping others and put all I have into my work. I learn all I can learn to make things enjoyable and better I was raised with it and loved the work I do. I went as high as I could in training, my next step is a RN position. Helping people and doing my best at what I do and giving the best care, also raising my four beautiful daughters and who they became as a adults The work I do, makes me feel good and proud of helping people and doing all I can.

Ive always had a passion and caring for others is MY passion. I love learning client personality and learning stories about them and their lives! What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I have a beautiful baby boy who ive been home with for over a year. Hes is the best thing ive done in my entire life.

I am an avid reader and a -new- gardener, i enjoy rainy days, the holidays, baking and air conditioning in the summer. I am very compassionate, and patient. I love caregiving because It isn't a job that is repetitive, I meet so many new faces, hear so many lovely stories, and feel the reward of showing strangers compassion as we become more than strangers throughout our time together! I was raised by my grandparents, and they would always joke with me and say "just you wait, you will be my age someday!" I have always wanted to commit myself to doing something meaningful in my career and I felt that becoming a CNA wold provide that while I was in school for my bachelors and next for my masters in PA studies. To be spending my days helping sick people to feel well, to help educate people in how best to take care of themselves is something that has always spoken to me. Working as a CNA has been a great opportunity because it has confirmed in my mind what I had been anticipating, which is how much I look forward to working with patients. It has allowed me to be the positive presence that I want to be in people's lives. Leaving work every day knowing I made a difference not only in someone's life but in their well-being is the most rewarding thing that I have ever done. Not only do I enjoy it because of the positive impact it allows me to make in their daily lives but also because of the way they impact me. Caring for them forces me to figure out the best way to help people feel better. Sometimes that means really learning to understand the effects of behavioral or cognitive disorders, and sometimes that means helping people cope with the pain, fear and anxiety that medical challenges can bring. It is challenging but deeply meaningful to care for patients because I get to develop a deeper understanding of how to improve the quality of life to people who rely on me and look to me for relief. My greatest personality traits and expertise that has helped me become a great caregiver is my constant open mindedness to grow and learn to become the best version of myself. My ability to bring a positive warm energy to work has allowed me to create a comfortable and safe environment for my patients. I am also a very driven and dedicated person who will not walk away from a problem until it is solved or keep working until I fulfill my dreams. My greatest personal achievement would be graduating with my bachelors in four years at the age of 22.

I love being an in home caregiver because I enjoy being able to give people the one on one attention they deserve. I enjoy learning the little things about a person that can give them a good day (such as wearing scrubs with pictures of cats on it for the person that loves cats). Little things like that can make a difference in being able to get a dementia patient to eat. I am also experienced in dealing with various mental health issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and schizophrenia. I'm never judgemental and strongly believe in validation therapy.
