I have been a professional caregiver for the elderly off and on for 15 years. I specialize in Alzheimer's and Dementia.

The reason I choose this field is because I love helping people in need. I am a great caregiver because I am compassionate and dependable. I will give 110 percent in everything I do. I also want to further my career by going back to school to become a nurse. Not only that but I have experience working with the elderly, kids, and the developmentally disabled. So, it does not matter who I need to help I will find a way to relate to them and make their life a lot happier. As well as making living life a lot easier doing ADL's.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? - Personality traits id say are caring, enthusiastic and optimistic. Expertise would be i have worked with ALL kinds of people with variety of needs! What attracted to you being a caregiver? Being able to make someone's life better easier and more fun in return makes me beyond happy What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Ive always had a passion and caring for others is MY passion. I love learning client personality and learning stories about them and their lives! What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I have a beautiful baby boy who ive been home with for over a year. Hes is the best thing ive done in my entire life.

I'm a caring person, I try to have a positive attitude, I am skilled at taking care of people. I enjoy helping people. I have great adult children and fun grandchildren.

What makes me a great caregiver is I've been in loved one shoes before. I had a mother who was diagnosed with diabetes at a young age so I was born into the atmosphere of caring for someone. My mother was a double leg amputee from the knees down so my first process of caring for someone was with her until she passed in 2012 which had me very depressed and I missed caring for someone because it's so natural to me. I started researching more in the health field and I have been caregiving for others loved ones since 2013 I have a passion for what I do and go above and beyond to make sure every need is met and well taken care of. I am currently a Dementia coordinator at an assisted living and and love being patient and taking time out of my day to create moment of joy for my residents and ensure all their needs are met including activities and exercises as well. My personal achievement I am proud of is everywhere I have been employed or had the opportunity to care for someone my team has never been disappointed and always make an known statement of how great of a job I do at what I do and standing out as an over achiever is always my goal.

I wanted to become a caregiver because, I have a passion for helping people. I like being acare giver because it gives me an oopportunity to care for some people who are in needs of help, like cleaning or even a good bath and meal ,to make them feel good. It really makes me feel good, when I know my clients are happy, and knowing that they are in good care. I am very out going, a hard worker, very dependable and take pride in my work.

I truly enjoy being a caregiver because it allows me to give a part of myself to someone and hopefully brighten their day, even something as simple as a smile. I treasure each client I've been able to work with as I have learned so much from their experiences. My most memorable client and I were able to bond when he discovered that I served in the military. He then was able to share his experience as a POW in WWII with me. I feel that each person has something to offer, sometimes it simply takes someone having the time to sit and hear what they need to communicate through words, song, gesture, facial expression, etc. Allowing someone to still feel needed and of worth is of utmost importance.

My mother was a big influence on why I became a caregiver. Just seeing the joy that being a caregiver gave her, the level of compassion she gave her job, and lastly her level of selflessness when it came to her job as a caregiver. That rewarding feeling you get from making someone's day a little better by just listening to them, being compassionate or just showing that you care. Being nominated as a star performer at my job by one of my coworkers. I am currently attending school to become a registered nurse and healthcare is my passion.
