Hey my name is Donayjah Hamilton , I am 20 years old I enjoy working with older or younger clients that want/need my assistance. I grew up caring for my uncle in a wheelchair and as I grew older I knew that being a caregiver was something I wanted to pursue in . I enjoy meeting new people learning new ways to communicate and helping others .

I feel I am a great candidate for this position because I am a hardworking person I am always open and excited to learn new things while also being able to help others and grow with a company. I was interested and being a care giver due to me having to help care for my grandfather suffering from a stroke, and a bad case of dementia before he passed away last year. What I enjoyed most about being a caregiver is being able to be helpful to people that may not be able to do things on their own anymore. And with me being young it also helps me to appreciate life more and helps me be thankful that I am able to do things that others may suffer or need help with and use my abilities to assist others.

My care and concern for people, especially those that need help is a great passion of mine. I understand and empathize with both clients and families in the aging process and healthcare management. I enjoy not only taking care of others but also sharing great memories and stories of others lives.

I'm proud of continuing my education into the nursing field. I have my certification in medical assistant and medication aide for adult care. I'm currently taking all my prerequisites classes needed to get into the nursing program at James Sprunt Community college. I enjoy seeing my residents happy and satisfied. I enjoy my Alzheimer's patients the most because they can tell me their whole life story and it makes my day hearing their experiences, I feel so encouraged to come to work because my residents tell me how good of a job I do for them! I got attracted into the health care filed because I wanted a stable career and I wanted to make sure that I do something with my life that I actually enjoyed. I want to come to work happy and leave happy! I have 6 months experience as being a CNA at a nursing home. I assist with ADL, bathing, showers, feeding, mail care, hair care, catheter care, perineal care, cleaning,, using lifts to transfer , changing occupied and unoccupied beds, charting , weights, changing briefs, assisting residents to the rest room using a transfer belt or walker, cleaning out bedside commode.

I am very patient, compassionate, reliable and supportive. I have a mother who has been very sick for the past few years and I have been very devoted in giving the care she deserves. It's rewarding when she is happy and having a good day. I've learned caring for elders is not always easy, however in the long run, it can be very rewarding.

I'm people oriented, I'm caring and a hard worker. Caregiving became a part of my life at the age of 12. It start at home for me. My grandmother had a stroke and was no longer able to do for herself. I lived with my aunt so i helped take care of her on days my aunt couldn't. My aunt also developed cancer and i was along her side until she passed away. I have empathy and that's not something a lot of individuals have. I love what i do as caregiver.

I am a loving caring person who loves to help others. I have experience as a private caregiver for a person with Alzheimer's, I cared for her for 2.5 years. I also cared for my grandmother for 3 years, she had dementia. I have lots of experience in the healthcare industry and I am certified in CPR and First Aid. What attracts me to bring a caregiver is being able to make someone's day and see them smile, that lets me know that I've made a difference in there life.
