I started taking care of my grandmother at the young age of 8, from then on I decided to be a caregiver because it is a rewarding experience to see the smile on any elderly face. I worked 25 years in the Rutherford County School System as a Custodian and a Lunchroom Worker. I learned many skills in my years working there. How to be a team player was one of the many skills I learned. My references included 3 Principal's that I worked for.

My name is Onye but everyone calls me Red because nobody can usually pronounce it. I love helping people in need and mainly love caregiving because I'm able to help people who really need assistance and hopefully make them feel better and feel that they are not alone and that they mean something and people care about their wellbeing. I have a great amount of experience in being a caregiver I actually started very young. At the age of 8 I started being my mom's assistant caring for people and my first patient was my grandmother I cared for her for many years as she became more sick my responsibility grew I was responsible for bathing, cleaning, laundry, hygiene and more but the part I loved the most was the good talks that we had I was able to make her feel alright and happy and not alone until the day she passed. I would love to continue to do those things for people around the world if I am given the opportunity it makes me so happy and makes me feel like a good person. I love to smile and talk and laugh but most importantly uplift the people around me and hopefully I can continue to do that over the years

Observation and detail.... Each client is different and requires a different approach. If they are able to communicate then and ask them their preferences. Let them be part of their care . Always treat everyone as though it was a loved one you are caring for . Be respectful !
