The main reason I became a CNA to help my grandmother. Being raised by my grandmother, I want to do anything I could to help her as she has done for me until her passing. Since her death in 1977, I use my skills and experience helping other seniors. What I enjoy most about caring for seniors is knowing I have made a different in their lives. When I provide care to my clients, I'm providing care to myself, a very good friend, my grandmother, my mother, my grand father, because my clients are a part of my family. My greatest achievement in caring for my clients is when I can give them something that the doctor or medication cannot give and that's a sense that life doesn't have to be over. For example I have bought home clients from the hospital who was given two weeks to live, after caring for them they out live the two weeks by months and one lived almost a year longer than what the doctor had given. She was able to travel twice to her home state (from California to Ohio), driving herself to church, going out to lunch and dinner with friends. Those were the things she enjoyed doing before she became ill. Something about me, I received my C N A in high school (1976), I have three children two boys and one girl (decease). I also attended two colleges Long Beach City College in Long Beach, CA and Columbia MO online course. My major is Human Services. I'm currently working for a Home Care Agency who only take care of veterans.

I started taking care of my grandmother at the young age of 8, from then on I decided to be a caregiver because it is a rewarding experience to see the smile on any elderly face. I am very dependable, trustworthy, and put in 110% in care-giving. Personal achievement are getting my certification in home health aide and nursing assistant, my next achievement is going to school to receive my nursing degree.

Became a caregiver to care for my Father in Law, Hospice in Drexel hands on trained me and he originally stayed in my home 5 months before passing at 92 years old. I have previous experience as Cna 1&2 in nursing home facility and habilitation technician at state facility, group homes and in community. Those in need of help in basic daily care,, grooming and activities depend on others to make it possible. The feeling of helping and connecting with the people I work with makes the work fulfilling and enjoyable.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of North Carolina for 9 years. My certification is current. I am also BLS/CPR certified which is also current. I have worked in long term care settings as well as assisted living. I am very passionate about what I do. I love helping people and taking care of them when they can no longer care for themselves. I am 42 years old I have been working as a care provider in assisted living homes for 20 years I have my medication aid certificate and I am currently going back to school to get my medical office assistant diploma. I have no problem doing what needs to be done to make life easier on the primary care giver

I worked 25 years in the Rutherford County School System as a Custodian and a Lunchroom Worker. I learned many skills in my years working there. How to be a team player was one of the many skills I learned. My references included 3 Principal's that I worked for.

Taking care of the elderly is my passion I like seeing my clients happy well loved and cared for, I've always been this way. I enjoy when I walk out the door they are happy smiling and have had a great experience in the time we've spent together. If I can do this then I feel my Dad is looking down smiling and proud of me, I was blessed to be able to take care of him at home when he was diagnosed with Dementia until he passed.
