My name is Maria Dozier, am a 43 year old Hispanic educated woman. I've been married 18yrs and have been with my husband for almost 26 yrs. We have 3 beautiful children ages 25, 17 and 12. I live my life for my children and making sure that they are taken care of and brought up correctly. We moved to Santa Fe, NM almost 11 yrs ago. Til now I hadn't looked for work because I needed to be at home with my children. But now that their getting older I'd like to have a job. I have perfect transportation and am very reliable. I speak Spanish and English and am very resourceful and respectful when it comes to patient confidentiality.

After caring for my Grandfather for somtime before he passed, I decided that caregiving was what I wanted to do as a career. Hi, my name is Monica. I am originally from Oregon but after my high school graduation I went to Idaho on a full ride scholarship to Boise Bible College where I studied Intercultural Studies. I am now pursuing my Nursing degree so that one day I may become a medical missionary. My husband and I just moved to New Mexico to slow down and work hard toward our future. I decided to become a caregiver because my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's a few years back but with much help from caregivers he was able to live out his last years in his home with my grandmother at his side. I have worked with geriatric, bariatric, dementia, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's patients. I have mostly worked in rehab and long term facilities but doing so has taught me many skills. It feels highly rewarding knowing you're changing the life of those in need of assistance. My passion for this started after the passing of my dad, I wished I could've done more to help him in the stages he needed to gain in-dependability to get better. Later my grandpa was admitted into hospice care and I had the chance to care for him everyday. After, it sparked the idea to get back to school and follow a path I was really passionate about. I began to go to school for nursing assistance. I then accepted a training position where I had 100+ hours of training. Caring for the elderly gives you a lot of great perspective. While working with this demographic, you begin to really value your time with them. The mutual respect that you can develop with the aging population is truly special.
