I have been a caregiver for many years. I worked at Pathfinder Village for 6 years taking care of people with mentally disabled needs. I used to cook, clean, shop, bring them to drs appointments, bath them if they needed help, do fun activities with them. I am med cert, CPR certified, Scip trained, gait belt and hoyer trained, CNA experience.

I enjoy working in the clients home so there's more one on one time with the clients to do care and pampering. I enjoy working with clients when work being done helps gain and benefit themselves .

I have been a care giver since 2008. I became interested in being a caregiver when my grandmother needed care. She is what drove me in my career. I cannot picture doing anything else as this is what brings me joy. I am a great caregiver because I take my time with people and I care about the person I am caring for. Watching CNA's care for my grandpa when he was in the hospital is what me into caregiving. Because seeing someone care for my grandpa and help him with the things he needed gave me and my family a lot of relief knowing that when we left to go home he was taken care of and we didn't have to be there 24 hours. It made me want to be able to do that for other people and their families, give them relief and comfort knowing their loved one is being taken care of even if they're not there. I love being a caregiver because I love to help people and it makes me feel good to help people with whatever they need without making them feel like a burden or like they are less of a person because they need a little help.

I fully believe we all have a calling in life. This happens to be mine. I've been a certified nurses aide since I was 18 years old. I've worked with all facets in which the job could entail. Private and in house facilities. Dementia/Alzheimer's - the blanket of it and it's branches, quad and paraplegic inflicted folks. Colostomy care as well as wound care. The list goes on. However, whatever the aliment, or the the age, we are all people, with feelings and tempers and day to day challenges. Sitting down with someone, hearing stories about their loves and accomplishments, simply giving them time and attention is what I see is most important. The smiles, hugs and love make my job worth it each and every day. I would be happy to sit down and meet you, your family and loved one and see if I am the right fit to help them carry on, when sometimes life seems like it's taking simple tasks away from them and comfort and ease them into a new chapter.
