I have great attention to detail and care about the well-being of others. My goals are to provide the safest care of my capabilities. The thought of being able to help others live a fulfilling life has attracted me to be a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the joy and happiness on the individual's face. A personal achievement I am proud out if becoming a PTA so I can further help the community.

Taking care of people and caring for people are two different things but I've always been intentional about both. I treat others the way I would want to be treated or how I would want someone to treat my loved ones. Growing up being raised by a family who took pride in helping others especially those who can't help themselves , giving back to the community , being selfless, seeing a need and being of service, and found more joy in simply being an humanitarian more than anything else, has really became apart of who I am. I believe in people maintaining their respect and dignity in all aspects of life, good and bad, and if I can help with that, then I will go above and beyond the call of duty to do so.

Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I've been a CNA since 2015, right out of high school. I love every minute of it and would never turn back. I enjoy everything about it, getting to know each person I take care of and knowing I'm helping them in a way some people can't is the greatest feeling ever!

I started this profession after taking care of my grandmother for several years in Altoona. She became ill and my mother needed help taking care of her while she worked. I didn't hesitate and ever since that time I've been taking care of people.It makes me feel godd to know that I'm needed in one way or another. I'm proud of all of the things that I have learned both professionally and personally. I learn something new every day. I'm 53, married and I have 3 girls and 1 grandson who keeps me on my toes.

I have experience working with Elderly and disabled individuals over the span of 8 years 5 of them I've done personal care and provided support for both elderly and disabled individuals. I've exercised an awareness for many ailments and challenges these individuals often face and hold the individuals I care for in high regard. I've also become the caretaker for my own elderly family members over the years. I respect seniors and have a passion for bring light, laughter, and ensuring their well being by not only meeting their needs but recognizing and understanding their strengths, and goals. I have exercised the use of Functional mobility equipment including mobility and transferring. Certifications Ive acquired that I've offen found applicable have been my Holistic Nutrition certification ,CPR, and Personal Care Aide Certification.
