Taking care of people and caring for people are two different things but I've always been intentional about both. I treat others the way I would want to be treated or how I would want someone to treat my loved ones. Growing up being raised by a family who took pride in helping others especially those who can't help themselves , giving back to the community , being selfless, seeing a need and being of service, and found more joy in simply being an humanitarian more than anything else, has really became apart of who I am. I believe in people maintaining their respect and dignity in all aspects of life, good and bad, and if I can help with that, then I will go above and beyond the call of duty to do so.

Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I decided to become a caregiver as I would like to get more of a foot in the door for my nursing career while building a relationship with my client. I am always available as a companion for your loved one and enjoy having different conversations and keeping spirits high. I have completed clinical rotations in Community/Home Health Nursing and feel as though I gained a lot of knowledge throughout the course that I will apply to the caregiver role. I've been a CNA since 2015, right out of high school. I love every minute of it and would never turn back. I enjoy everything about it, getting to know each person I take care of and knowing I'm helping them in a way some people can't is the greatest feeling ever!

I started this profession after taking care of my grandmother for several years in Altoona. She became ill and my mother needed help taking care of her while she worked. I didn't hesitate and ever since that time I've been taking care of people.It makes me feel godd to know that I'm needed in one way or another. I'm proud of all of the things that I have learned both professionally and personally. I learn something new every day. I'm 53, married and I have 3 girls and 1 grandson who keeps me on my toes.

After caring for my ill parents, I entered LPN training to become a nurse. Allowing people to remain at home, rather than be in a nursing home was a goal of mine as well for my parents. I like working with individuals and small groups, so that I may give them the care that they need and deserve. I have been a nurse for 14 years. Taking care of 15-49 clients is not unusual and not practical to see to the needs of the clients or patients. I am seeking a position that I can optimize the care of individuals I care for.
