I am 52 years old. I have been in doing house keeping/ caregiving for 30 years. I was with my last family for 18 years. I start doing this because I was a single mother and need to have a flexible schedule. I have never been fired or even close. I enjoy helping those in need because we have all sometime or will sometime need help. I feel that is where God had put me. In 2018 my husband retired and we moved to PA. I thought I would love the retirement life and I did enjoy the first year, traveling, Well now I am bored. I am still fairly young I am completely flexible and I have a reliable vehicle. I am dependable. Trust worthy and truly care about others.

I think one of my greatest traits that with my experience make me well qualified for the job is, compassion and patience. Because above all those are the two important things you need to have while working in the health care field, and I have learned both go a long way. I have been a personal care giver in many different enviroments/ to all ages of patients for the past 6 years, and the amount of different people you meet and just being able to be there when they need somebody/ help in any way is in my view the best part of the job.

Im a good listener. I am kind, caring and patient. I am dependable. I love the elderly. I love it when they talk about growing up, meeting their spouses,maybe went off to war and of course their grandchildren and great grandchildren. I enjoy making a difference in their lives. Raising my children is what im most proud of.

I am a senior nursing student at IUP, and I will be graduating in may. I am very compassionate and love the field of work I am in. Hello! My name is Heather Dunmire, I have been in the medical field for 8 years now. My first job out of high school was a nurses aide position. I went on to further my education and obtain my CNA license in January 2017. I have a strong passion for wanting to help others and wanting to see them succeed. I have worked in a childcare facility as a shift supervisor before but I always find my way back to my elderly folk, that is where I feel my heart is at and where I feel I do my best work. I love hearing their stories from all throughout their lives, and I absolutely love to see the smiles on their faces. I like to really take the time to find out what their dislikes and likes are, get to know their routine of things, and try to connect with them in a way to make them feel safe and secure. I am cpr, first aid, aed, and Heimlich trained. I am also diabetic trained and medication trained, and insulin trained and I have a customer service certification. I've enjoyed being a caregiver for over 15 years now. I started in a nursing home, and then, after my father became ill, I took over all of his care. I have been doing private in home care ever since. It gives me much joy to be able to help others .... whether it be as a caregiver, friend, or great listener to loved ones and their families. In the last 5 years, I've been involved with private in home hospice care.
