Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I decided to become a caregiver as I would like to get more of a foot in the door for my nursing career while building a relationship with my client. I'm a wonderful caregiver. I love taking care of the elderly and learning new things from the past. I'm easy to get along with. I have a great personality. I enjoy taking care of the elderly and getting to know them. I'm extremely proud of my award from the Pennsylvania Odd Fellows Home for Citizenship.

I think patience and compassion are essential traits needed for working this type of job. This is a job that might have some challenging situations along the way, and a good attitude goes a long way. Ive always had a giving personality and I like helping people. My grandmother had raised my brother and I since we were toddlers. As Ive gotten older and she has as well, Ive been giving back and helping her along the way. I would say that really kickstarted my compassion and empathy for the elderly. In my opinion, this is one of the most rewarding jobs one can have. Just knowing you are helping someone who cant help themselves, and seeing how grateful they are for it, makes it all worth it.

I've been a CNA since 2015, right out of high school. I love every minute of it and would never turn back. I enjoy everything about it, getting to know each person I take care of and knowing I'm helping them in a way some people can't is the greatest feeling ever!
