I have been a caregiver since I was 15 years old and still in high school. Today having over 20 years of experience, I am still filled with the lively energy that is needed for this kind of work. I've always cherished the honor to love others and have taken pride in the journey to make a difference in someone's life. I am able to build the companionship that's needed to care for another with enthusiasm. This has proven to comfort the fears that surface with life's challenges as people need care in life. I have mastered empathizing with encouragement to calm the storms of life and handle any crisis with kindness and patience. A variety of issues can surface on any given day so problem solving in a positive and timely way with flexibility has given me a strong record of client satisfaction. It comforts families that I offer so much experience and expertise having worked for many years in nursing homes, hospitals, private duty homes, hospice home health, knowledgeable with dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, physical therapy, dialysis. I must be attentive to the client and family with perfect communication skills in order to serve and maintain the ability to monitor the health and personal care of the clients daily lives. Most importantly be dedicated, supportive, dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate in order to have peace for the family that the client will have a better quality of life. I posses the knowledge to do this and thrive to be improving everyday life in many ways. The rewards are huge and I was born to serve others. I ground myself in medical knowledge and crave learning and improving all ways I can professionally. Most importantly I have built many cherished relationships along my journey with caregiving, ones which will last a lifetime. To me that is beyond an amazing opportunity and I anxiously await the next opportunity to be caregiving.

I am a single mother of 2 amazing girls, 7 & 14. I recently moved back home to Rockport TX to be closer to my parents and family after being in the DFW Metroplex the past 20 years. My biggest passion in life is spending time and caring for the elderly, after all they really do deserve nothing but the absolute BEST at this day and age.

My name is Kathleen and I have been caring for infants and adults for over 10 years. After graduating High School, my grandmother became ill and needed a full time caregiver. I wasn't sure how I would do but it didn't take long to realize I enjoyed taking care of others. Soon after my children were born I began working at a daycare, so that I would be able to take my children with me to work. I enjoyed taking care of infants and toddlers, but as my children got older and started school full time I decided to apply at an assisted living facility. After working there about 6 months I decided this would be my career path. I took an accredited course to become a certified nurses aide and began working at a skilled nursing facility. I have heard so many memories and stories from my sweet residents, and the joy on their faces make me feel like I am making a difference.

Through all my years I learned how to be a caregiver! I enjoy working as a care giver! My job become priority duties! Make sure daily activities for my client, make sure my family comfortable take care of there love one

I can help relive the old days I live working with the elderly because I love to hear the stories back when they were little and young. I become a caregiver/cna because I know how hard their family member work. I'm proud of myself because I know leaving I did the best to understand my client and left them with a smile in there face when I leave and how happy they get when they see me the morning as soon I step in their house

I love seeing smiles on people's faces.If someone is need of help I like to be the one to help them to assure they are happy and ok.I love cooking and cleaning as well as making sure every nutrition is taken in.I like to motivate people the best I can to let them know there potential and what they are capable of. The thing that attracted me to be a caregiver is being able to help someone who has helped someone there whole life and is now struggling to do it now .To be able to put a smile on someone's face and know they are taken care of. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love helping people.I love making sure that my resident is safe and comfortable as well as well taken care of.I also enjoy hearing some of there life stories what they used to do and motivate them to still do some of it . I've always been told that I smile too much. I'm really proud that I smile too much because it brightens up my patients day. Sometimes they need to see a smile to know everything is going to be ok. I love being a caregiver because I get to help someone. it brings me joy to know that I'm helping someone who appreciates it. Working in both hospitals and nursing centers has shown me two different worlds to healthcare. I have really learned a lot from both. I've learned to noticed signs a lot sooner when something is going on with a patient/resident. I've learned to read people a lot faster on who they are or how they like things done. It really does make a difference when you know what to look for. That's why I wanted to be a caregiver and eventually make my way to becoming a Registered Nurse.

I love old people and love talking to them and helping them cause most the time we are they all have it just makes me happy to help them I raise my kids by myself mostly and work hard to give them a good life

I have been working as a Nurse Aide for about four months. I completed my training, and am waiting on the results of my state test for my CNA license. When you become a CNA, it gives you the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people, which is something I've always wanted to do. The job can be very demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The relationships you build with your patients are like no other, and it is a good feeling when you can help your patients feel better. I first thought about becoming a CNA when my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness similar to Parkinson's. Hospice came into our home to care for him when it became too much for us to handle on our own. They were very helpful, and provided him with not only care, but also companionship. Seeing the difference that they made not only for my grandfather, but also for me and the rest of my family, that is what made me want to get into healthcare. I believe that is what makes me a great caregiver. I think about each of my patients as if they are my own family. And if they were, I would want only the best care for them. That is why I always strive to do the absolute best I can to care for my patients.
