I've been a caregiver for more than 30 years. I care about people and I feel like God has given me a gift. I love to talk so I pretty much can get a patient to try must things that a family member can't get them to to to. I love to read and interact with them if it's just a game cards.

I am an upbeat and positive individual who believes that each day is the best day ever! I became a caregiver when my husband, mother and father all became ill and needed care. Their care ranged from physical needs, to needs due to dementia. I wanted to be the one there with them to care for them. However, when I couldn't be there with them full time, as I needed to work, I was blessed to have found the most wonderful caregiver in the world to care for them. She treated my loved ones as family, and cared for them with love, compassion and dignity. It is now my privilege to be able to share that gift with other families that I care for. I enjoy the companionship and helping those who are in their most vulnerable state., and caring for them with dignity and compassion. A personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating from college with a degree in Psychology at the age of 47!

I love being a caregiver

As a caregiver i enjoy listening to the clients life story and trying to relate to things that they have experienced in the past. They pass on their wisedom and experience of life to us as caregiver. And being able to make your client feel like they are still important is just an amazing experience. To see them excited when you walk in always makes me smile.

What makes me a great care giver is I love what I do and I love helping people. I have been working with the elderly for about 30yrs and there is no better job I rather be doing. When they're happy I'm happy.
