I started over 10 years ago at a local nursing home here in Fredericksburg, TX. I fell in love with how close you get to the patients like learning about their interests, hobbies & about their families they loved so much. I cared for each & every patient as if they were my own family. I love the sincere talks & the laughs & the time I spend with each & every single patient I worked with. I also learned alot from my alzheimer's & dementia patients. It's a day to day adventure that I welcome gladly. I have experience in hospice care as well as home healthcare. No matter where I worked I learned something from each place & each wonderful patient I had the privilege to come in contact with. Now I hope to be of some help to you to bring my patient & outgoing care to you.

I have been in the healthcare field since 1993. I enjoy taking care of people and making life easier. I have worked in Nursing homes,Private sitting and home health care. I know how to lift,shower,feed,cook,clean and listen. That's the first part of taking care of someone. Listen to what they need or what even if they can't communicate.

I started doing healthcare since I graduated high school. I first started as a caregiver and really loved the experience of being able to help somebody who really needs it. I have been doing healthcare for about 4-5 years I love the experience of being able to be apart of something bigger to many people they might just see it as something small but to the person or person's that we are helping to them it's something bigger. I also like being a friend to my patients I love hearing their stories of when they were young and how they came to be. I like learning new things and new people and sometimes we come to learn new cultures. During COVID i have learned that being there for our patients goes beyond a caregiver you start being a part of their family which in the end is such a great feeling knowing that your hard work and dedication really matters.

This is a time when many of our seniors lose their significant other, have lost friends and realize they are not far from it. Many have loss ability or function in their body and they need that extra care, tender, love, and a companion. No one wants to believe they are not what they use to be, strong, independent and happy, and struggle to admit they are not where they use to be and they need help. I love to be able to be that little light and extra help they can receive. A simple smile can always go a long way. The feeling is rewarding especially when the appreciation goes both ways.

I became a caregiver because I love working with the elderly. I like being a caregiver because I get to help out with their needs. Iam proud to say I've worked with two home health agencies for many years! Iam a hard worker and love to work more than one job.

I am currently a Caregiver for my 79 year old Mother. When Mother suffered her stroke in 2009. I read so many books related to her stroke to make myself more aware of her illness. I asked Mother to move in with my husband and I so I can care for her 24/7. Mother is always included in whatever we plan. Since then Mother has been doing much better. Although she was recently diagnosed with Slight Dementia. Its not too serious yet. But having her with us is a blessing. I do cook, clean, wash, and help Mother with Bathe (if needed). I am a people person. I used to work as a retail Clerk. Prior to that I was a Manager for an Apartment Community for 15 Years. I quit my job to care for Mother full time. Doctor says she does require full time care giving. Mother used to be a caregiver. Later she had to quit her job to care give for my late Father for 18 years before he passed away in 2006. I feel my care giving is from background gene. Mother and I enjoy doing things together. I hope to include her with me when assisting a Client. It will be so much enjoyment to see her meet new friends while at same time I am helping with their needs.
