I began my journey 8 years ago when I became a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in long term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, memory care facilities, hospice, and the hospital. I did not know what I was getting myself into in the beginning but somehow I felt that helping others was meant for me. Being a caregiver is who I am. I enjoy people and connecting with them even when it is a challenge to do so. Every person is unique and has different needs. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable while finding joy in the day. I am currently in my second year of nursing school with a graduation year of 2024. I have 3 children plus 3 step children age in range of 10-17. I have a four legged, super furry son name Kai. I work on the weekends on the med/surg unit at the hospital. Now that school is starting up I have time available to do what I love and that is helping others live a better life.

I've been a caregiver for more than 30 years. I care about people and I feel like God has given me a gift. I love to talk so I pretty much can get a patient to try must things that a family member can't get them to to to. I love to read and interact with them if it's just a game cards.

I currently take care of my grandma and I also live with her I clean and bath her help her get ready for church I love takin care of elderly people ..it's makes me feel good knowing they have someone to care for them and they are not alone

Hello My name is Sylvia Brown, I'm 55 years old I'm blessed with 2 grown children and 4 beautiful grandbabies. I resided in Giddings, Tx originally from Austin, Tx. I became a Home Health Caregiver in 2001 in Austin, Tx and in Kingsland, Tx. What inspired me to the career of a caregiver was the loss of a love one that I took care of tell his last days. I mostly enjoyed the one on one in caregiving I beleave you have to have it in your heart to care for the ones that no longer or have a hard time doing for there selfs. In 2005 I got my Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) I have worked in Nursing Homes long term and Alzhteimer's Unit. That was a more fast pace environment but I did enjoy. In 2017 I had to stop working due to taking care of Grandsons, during that time my CNA expired. I had been helping take care of my 91 year old Father that had Alzhteimer's up to July 2021 a blessing that I will live with the rest of my life. I just can't seem to let go of taking care of those that need care so I'm looking to take care of your loveones . I feel I have been blessed and skilled for 22 years of careing for the ones that need it, I got a loving and honest personality and hard worker. My achievements in my career are Loving others and having a great relationship with my clients and there family. I have been employee of the month and for my hard work have gotten bonus check. Yes we all have to work to survive but at the same time you have to enjoy and have the love in your heart to do the best for the one your taking care of as if they were your own family. (Hourly rate is negotiable base on miles, hours and weekends also over night care. We can discuss and figure out what is reasonable.) I enjoy being a caregiver. It's a very rewarding experience. I love to help out the elderly and make their lives more manageable to complete tasks that they are unable to complete by their selves.

First and foremost you must understand this is just not any job. This is someone's family member. I very much enjoy working with older people they still have much to offer the younger generation. My first visit was with an neighbour. She would let me take out her trash weekly from then on it progressed. Since then I have been in and out the field for 20 years. Became a Medical Assistant was not the same no one on one personal care so I did not stay in the field. Giving the best part of me to my clients.

What makes me a great caregiver is I do the most important thing, I CARE. Always have always will, ever since I was a child this is what I've wanted to do, I've got such a caring outgoing personality that it's just what I love. I also do photography on the side as a hobby, blessing people and helping in every way possible is my goal.
