I have five years prior experience as a CNA and have worked in both a hospital environment and also a handful of Long Term Care facilities. I was a travel CNA my last two years of work so I got to travel many different places locally to help with care in my area! I take great pride in my work as a caregiver and think that every person should be treated like family. I took a short break from healthcare and ventured out only to realize that this is my true calling! I love caring for people, its so rewarding for me!!!

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with more than two decades of experience in the healthcare professions as both a Registered Nurse in Colombia and a Certified Nurse Assistant in the United States. In my most recent job, I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant who provided outstanding healthcare services to residents at Heartis of Waco Assisted Living and Memory Care. Prior to moving to the United States in 2008, I worked for more than 8 years as a surgical room nurse in a cosmetic surgery clinic in my native country of Colombia. Additionally, I possess strong attention to detail and am able to keep accurate and concise written service records. My interpersonal and communication skills are outstanding: I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in English, and I am adept at helping people to open up and to feel at ease. Patients have told me on many occasions that they feel comfortable talking to me about some of their deepest personal matters and feel confident that I will provide assistance to them without judgment. I am a very outgoing and caring person, i will always put others needs above my own and i believe that is the biggest trait that helps me be an amazing caregiver. Helping others is my passion and i feel that for me, you must establish an amazing connection to the people you are caring for, you must treat them as a human and not just a job. Treat others how you wish to be treated is something i have always lived by. I absolutely love having a connection with my patients and doing what i can to make them comfortable and happy.

Honesty, patience & being dependable are very important when working with the elderly. I like working with people, especially one on one and giving them all the attention they need/want. Being a caregiver has been challenging at times but it has also been rewarding to the fact I've been more appreciative in a job I very much love. The one thing I love the most about being a caregiver is before I leave them, I make sure they're feeling better and have a smile on their face.
