My name is Leslie and I have been an active LPN for the past 52 years. The past 35 years I have been working with geriatrics. This past January 29, 2023, I finally retired from the full time work force. Before I graduated from high school one of my jobs was a companion for an elderly woman in our neighborhood. I was also a candystriper in our local hospital. I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren whom I can't get enough of! My husband of 34 years had a stroke 3 years ago this November and I am his caregiver.

I am a caring and giving person. I treat my clients as if they are family with respect. I know how to reroute behavior if they are having a bad day. Being in a good mood around clients is what gets them through the day. I strive for them having a nice time. I became a caregiver when I worked for Cedar Lane Apts and the Director saw how I treated the Assisted Living. One client was difficult but she loved me so they ask if I can be her caregiver in 2003. I been doing it every since. I enjoy seeing the looks on my clients face when they are happy. I enjoy putting them in a good mood. I love our outings I'm proud that the families brag on me and the staff appreciated me. I'm proud that I got to sometimes put them to bed comfortable. I'm proud to wear my scrubs

I get along with anyone and everyone. I was attracted to become a caregiver when I was needed to help care for a few family members and I grew to love it. I enjoy being there to help in any way shape or form that I am needed. I am proud of being who I am an love that fact that I can share the love by helping others.

I've always known that I have a purpose in life and that is to help people .I am very compassionate empathetic kind . I can see and understand situations and feelings threw their eyes. I have several years professional experience and including personal experiences in health care. I understand the importance of getting the right person to take care of loved ones and help assist. As a long term caregiver, I am not only very loving and genuine, but I believe that entering into a career choice such as caregiving should be something that one is passionate about. I myself have grown up with family who have selflessly given their time, love and attention to others. I have a natural gift of helping and serving.
