About Krista

Hello, my name is Krista and i have been in the field of nursing for 16 years. I started as a CNA when i was 20, went to school and became a Certified Medical Assistant at 25, and passed the California State Board of Nursing NCLEX exam in December, 2013. I have worked across the board in all specialities including long term geriatrics, Alzheimer's care, specialized pediatrics, wound care, ventilator and tracheostomy, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, etc. Nursing is in my blood, it's not just a job for me. I have extensive experience and impeccable references. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after receiving my LVN license I was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 36. I went through treatment and am proud to say I am currently cancer free. Due to this set back and the extensive healing time involved, I need to have a low stress job that allows for some flexibility. I have administered insulin to diabetic clients and managed medications for many. Always keep the family advised of any changes in behavior or anything I feel they should know. I don't leave work until I am sure my client is comfortable and has all they need. Long term positions are great, but I also work short term jobs. I have worked with dementia and Alzheimer's disease a lot. I am patient with people. I understand it is difficult to accept help. I try to ensure clients that it is alright, we all need help now and again.I have dependable vehicles both licensed and insured. I enjoy gardening, the beach and having fun with my animals. They keep me busy. I get along with all types of animals. I can tell you that if you hire me, you will not be disappointed.
