Because I care, and love the elderly. I also have a great great aunt that my mother was taking care of for a long time until she was too busy so then I taken over. My aunt Erica is very special to me. My aunt is just very old in age but can also be independent at home. I take her places like to the doctor, stores I give her foot massages etc. I work with kids with special needs in a school setting and home for 9 years and enjoy it very much. I love whatI do in helping people. Taking care of someone give me joy to my heart and it let's me know they need people that care. My personal achievement would be completely over coming shyness, inner enlightenment. Having to grow up struggling with my mother being a single parent and accomplishing my current goals and on going goals. Accept what comes, always as a gift. I'm a strong passionate worker I'm good at what I do. Always have a smile on my face whether it's good or bad. I have a outgoing personality that is very loving. I a mother of two beautiful girls that look up to me. I am amazing wife that have a supportive husband that sees my passion and gives me encouraging words everyday.

While taking care of my 96-year-old Quadriplegic patient who had Diabetes, Dementia, Alzheimer's, and also stroked out 3 times and fell before my care I performed many tasks. I maintain health records of patient care, provided patient and family with emotional support, gave patient medicine (pill and liquid form), changed diapers/bed linens daily, washed and ironed patients' laundry, performed housekeeping entertained patient, converse with patient, or read aloud to patient, planed/purchased/prepared/served meals and perform a variety of duties as requested by client.

Why did I become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because of my desire to help others especially the elderly. My passion and dedication for seniors is very important to me. Nothing brings me great pleasure in assisting people that are in need of some care. My greatest achievement in life are my children. I am a mother of four and a grandmother of six. Teaching my children to respect and help others gives me the satisfaction that when in some giving time I need help, they will assist me just like I assist and care for others in the same manner.
