Went to social functions and spent time talking and enjoying each others company. Review current meds and any complaints of negative side effects, documented and presented to the doctor at assisted doctor appts. Continued to monitor effects of meds. Encouraged a sleep hygiene program to improve amount and quaility of sleep. Did necessary house tasks to keep a clean and healthy environment. Responsible for the patients initial assessment, vitals, weight gain (water) and prepare the dialysis machine set up for procedure. Insert needles or coneect arterial port using sterile technique to engage treatment. Observe patients vitals throught the 3 - 4 hour treatment, using extreme caution throughout to avoid cross contamination. At the end of the treatment return blood and needed saline to establish blood pressure within normal range. Be prepared for a code through the treatment and know the steps to take in the event of a code. Support Patient in the renal diet and limit of water intake, as given by Licensed Dietician. Report any s/s of infection or other complications to RN.
