Very compassion loving and caring person

What makes me a great caregiver is I have a natural urge to help others. I have always placed a priority on helping other people. I want to make the world a better place and I can do it with one home care patient at a time. While still in high school, I became a Candy Striper for a local hospital, helping out with medical records and little jobs as needed around the hospital. Being surrounded on a daily basis by this kind of environment is what made me want to become a caregiver. Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about. The personal achievement I am most proud of is that my background in nursing and care giving allowed me to care for my mother for 13 years at home before she passed away. And from that I was able to care for my aunts without putting them in a nursing facility.

One of my greatest accomplishments in caregiving was when I had to teach my son to walk again after having a major surgery. My heart was so overwhelmed because doctors said he wouldn't.
