I became a cna in 1997 and continued my desired position for 12 yrs ranging from convalescent homes to Lindsay and Sierra hospitals then my last employer was private in home that's where I realized I was my happiest, the friendship and bond you create is so much more then just helping someone out and going on your way, I bonded and made a friend along the way which was good for all parties involved. I have been a stay at home mom and wife for the past 2-3 yrs now since I lost my friend due to the battle but I am eager to help another in need and possibly make a new friend.
I feel like caregiving was something I was born to do. I enjoy getting to know new people and help them with the tasks they need help with. I find satisfaction in caregiving because it feels great knowing I'm helping someone take care of there loved one. I was raised by a family member that was a CNA and she taught me to be loving and caring to others. I have worked with Individuals that display outburst behavior. I have been working with individuals that are mentally disabled for 3 years and that has taught me to be patient and kind. Being able to help families that need help really makes me feel like I'm doing a job that is really important and makes me want to always do the best job I can do for others and there loved ones.
My traits of being an active listener and having a comforting personality always allowed me to develop a great bond between my residents and myself. I became a caregiver/nurse due to my natural tendency of always offering a helping hand to those that needed it. My personal achievemens are always those "thank yous" I received when my resident would be discharged from a nursing home and their comments towards me telling me "thank you for taking care of me."
I became a CNA in 2010 and continued to work as a nurse assistant in retirement homes and I loved working there because I connected with the patients and always made them comfortable. I later on started working in the in home care services which I did well in given my background experience. I look forward to becoming a part of the healthcare team as soon as possible. Thank you
MY NAME IS MARIA, I BELIEVE TO BE A GREAT CAREGIVER. I FIRST STARTED AS A CAREGIVER WHEN MY SON WAS A VICTIM OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT, HE WAS BADLY INJURED WITH HEAD TRAUMA , HE WAS 4 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME BUT I HAD TO HELP MY SON, SO I LEARNED HOW TO DO RANGE OF MOTION WITH HIM. I LEARNED HOW A GASTRONOMY TUBE SITE WAS TO BE CLEANED AND HOW TO FEED HIM AND GIVE MEDICATION THROUGH HIS G-TUBE AND FLUSH IT, HOW TO TRANSFER HIM FROM THE BED TO THE WHEELCHAIR AND THE WHEELCHAIR TO THE CAR AND THEN I HAD TO TAKE CARE OF MY GRANDFATHER WHO HAD DEMENTIA AND GOUT. I ENJOY CARING FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE BECAUSE I LIKE MAKING OTHERS SMILE AND MAKE THEM FEEL COMFORTABLE. BEING A CAREGIVER IS SOMETHING I LIKE TO DO HELPING THEM WITH THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE. A PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT I AM PROUD OF IS EARNING MY CNA LICENSE.

I have been a care provider for more than 15 years. I am a certified senior companion, C.N.A, Hospice Aide, home health aide, registeted with IHSS and have worked for patients with a wide range of diseases/conditions. I believe that providing care is more than \"doing a job\", its a way of assisting the client to be as independant as possible, a coach of encouragement, a defender of diginity and a sunshine of cheerfulness. I am a nonsmoker, love pets. Provide transportation (excellant driving record) and skilled in the kitchen.
Hi my name is Kelly Leavens , I've worked for five years as a CN at Hanford nursing I loved it but the hours I worked I never seen my girls . I started working for Shelly Baird as a CNA in the nurses office were I did daily tasks that was needed , 4 years into this the state changed to were it had to be a LVN , so I was placed in a classroom as a instructional aide , I didn't renew my CNA license since I didn't need it for this job . I've worked at Shelly Baird for 14 years , working with numerous disorders , I have worked with the severely disabled through this time . One of my Students I would care for in her home for 4 years . She started hospice 2 years ago and I put in my noticed at Shelly Baird so I could take care of her full time . She recently passed and so I'm looking to use my skills , I've cooked , cleaned , given meds , changed g tubes , used oxygen she was very fragile , now that she's gone and taken a peice of my heart I need to keep busy , I don't drink or smoke and put my heart into my work , my children are grown and I have reliable transportation and I am available at any time for emergencies as well thank you !!
Hello, my names Serina. I'm currently 20 years old and attending college for Nursing. I did attend school for Respiratory Therapy. I learned many skills while attending for 2 years, I have always enjoyed helping others & that is why I am pursuing a career within the medical field. I want to be a caregiver while attending college so I am able to not only keep up with my skills and knowledge from last schooling, but also build a name for myself amongst employers. I am very hardworking and lively. The thing I enjoy the most about caregiving is being able to build a relationship with your clients! Although I do not have a title or license yet, I am certified in ACLS, CPR/BLS, NRP, & PALS. As well as having over 300+ hours at hospital sites around the Tulare County area. Thank you for your time!
